It would have worked! He just had to...you know...turn and face the opposite direction when he sung the other part. And when Valjean and Marius sing at the same time, he just has to use two different voices simultaneously! No problem for Michael.

@nvieira100 Michael has actually played Valjean. He did so in 2004 at Windsor Castle in a special royal command performance when the president of France visited the UK. Ramin Karimloo also performed in the show as Enjolras.

They are not on the same level as Michael, which makes the whole performance a bit weird and unballanced. I would love to see Michael as Javert some day though

I think it's from the VE day concert in Hyde Park 1995 - I'm looking for that concert myself too. I only have this clip and the clip of Michael singing Anthem from Chess. :(

hiya folks. calm down! this is a live performance. simply a show and this show wasn´t staged for being filmed. definitly not. what a huge audience and huge stage. everything needs to be bigger and a stage like that. Well, ok, they all missed the last breath6phrase, but I would honestly think, it´s just a performance for this show. Looks really like comming together of good singers, tributing a great musical. This is not the show on stage. the videotaping ruins it. Honestly
Urgh, this new Marius got his lyrics wrong. It's "Do I stay and do I dare" not "Do I die or do I dare". And to get it wrong it in front of Michael Ball, could it BE more embarrassing?
In fairness, the tempi the conductor has chosen is particularly slow for this particular song.. listen to any of the other recordings on youtube. They're probably trying to encourage them to speed up - after all, it's the orchestra who follow the musicians, not the other way around. Point taken on the fact that some of them sound a little insecure though.
Michael Ball is one of the most amazing singers I know. His voice is louder than all of the others' voices combined. It's breathtaking!!!
