The Most Epoch-Making Victory During This Period Was Boris Becker's First In 1985.

Love seeing footage of the Bjorg 🆚 McEnroe the year I was born. The start of a new power era. Boom Boom💥 Becker 🇩🇪 my first early memories and favourite tennis player bursting on to the scene with his power game in 85 and I vividly remember his 89 title win against his great rival Stefan Edberg 🇸🇪

      Not strictly accurate.
Connors in 1974 aged 21 winning Wimbledon.
He was the 1st power player. In my opinion.
He exposed the limitations of professional players, who up to his Introduction, played a slow game in comparison.

I agree. Sampras was a giant in the game and supremely elegant with his shots. He dominated and yet - hardly gets a mention.

Because most of the fans of tennis that are on social media today, only started watching the sport within the last 5-10 years. All they know (and ENDLESSLY argue about) is the Big 4 of the late 2000s/2010s

And barely any mention of Sampras, who dominated Wimbledon in the 1990's. They could have titled this segment 1978-1989 and the content would be just as relevant.

True but you could say the same about any of the other great champs Becker 🇩🇪, Federer 🇨🇭,Graff 🇩🇪, Williams🇺🇸 sisters. I think the main focus was on the 1980 final not only because it’s the year I was born, but because it was the beginning of a new era of the power game 💥🎾

What better than 2008...okay I was not born in 1980 but 2/3 sets seem dull...just the scoreline alone...in 2008 every freaking set was close....and my opinion the most overdramatic points see in the 4th set tiebreaker and the extraordinary quality the context...
7-7 Federer thinks I got this, goes for a volley and Nadal by miracle passes him.
7-8 Nadal think good i was able to serve wide to his Back Hand desired result and I would cheaply get the Wimbledon crown and the first man in 28 years to hold Wimbledon and French. Then Federer threads a Miracle backhand pass..Federer 5 year streak preserved.
8-8 Okay let me toy around with Nadal and he exactly does that and gets the shot for a winner..
9-8. Federer a brilliant kick serve and boom....
    10-8 an epic is formed..and a 9-7 in the 5th....
