Ever since an experiment in the high school physics lab went awry, Riverdale has become a magnet for the stuff of which B-Movies are made. A swamp creature has taken up residence in the old swimming hole! Frankenstein’s monster is hanging out on Lover's Lane! Mad scientists, werewolves, vampires, giant ants, UFO's and zombies are invading Riverdale. It is thrills, chills and a whole lot of laughs. Join Archie and his pals - beautiful Betty, sexy Veronica, devious Reggie and eccentric Jughead - as they do their best to unravel ARCHIES WEIRD MYSTERIES.

Throughout most of my adulthood, every once in a while the tune "Archie, Reggie, Veronica, Pedgie ... Jughead too" would always ring in my head ... until Riverdale came out and it all came full circle xD.

What's weird is, I read the comic books and watched this show at about the same time, and I know that.
Every now and then this song will just pop into my head. I'll be at work just doing random shit and then boom "Archie's weeeieerd mysteries". Well, either this or "They're Muuummies ALIVE!" But like, no one I know even remembers those shows ever existed. It hurts me to my core.

My mom bought the entire series dvd because I was an Archie fanatic and needed some entertainment to quell me during road trips. Needless to say it was a childhood classic, b-movie ish, guilty pleasure sort of thing.
And I still have the DVD to this day

it's a shame sabrina the teenage witch never made a crossover/cameo on this series. since she originally was from riverdale like the josie & the pussycats cast. she could have been a recurring character who helped them out once and awhlie or something. missed opporunity to me.

I think it's because the same studio was already doing a Sabrina cartoon at the time and they couldn't cross-promote
And also because both shows had no relation to each other.

The animation team for Archie's Weird Mysteries also produced Sonic Underground and The Wacky World of Tex Avery.
Before this I was literally listening to the sonic underground theme song-
Also they dubbed sailor moons first 2 seasons in excellent form compared to cloverway.
They also animated the Sabrina series which is also an Archie comic/property

This series was my first exposure to Archie, so it was surreal to read the original comics and see nothing supernatural happen at all (besides Snax Headjug). Also, very little page-time for my man Dilton.
And then Riverdale came out and established that it is the true horrible mutant version that got locked in the basement.
