Gamer 1738 YT not exactly. Mazinger z was created by go nagai. Getter robo was created by Ken ishikawa. Ken was nagai's good friend so getter robo had some influence by nagai, and it's still credited as the creator, but getter robo is ishikawa's thing
Im sure he was always proud go nagai was part of getta. The wikia says the were besties but I assume, when they started working, they were like teacher and aprendice. Its so sad he passed away. Im also extremely happy go nagai is still around. But i assume he wouldnt be willing to touch getta again. It will always be shrouded in mistery.
I know nothing about this guy but honestly looking at the bright colors and everything and away he just overall looks he makes me think about that mazinger robot. And the way you had them shaking hands was awesome that's what also has me thinking he belongs in the same universe as mazinger. If I'm wrong I'll be happy with somebody correcting me. I know you said he has his own show and Anime but I'm just saying he looks like he would fit pretty well with that heroic black robot. I'm not sure if that one's name is mazinger....
Getter Robo was created by Go Nagai's late friend Ken Ishikawa. Go is often credited as co creator as it was his idea for it to be three combining jets as well as it was his insistence that his friend work on a robot manga despite it being a lot of work. Despite that make no mistake it's very much Ishikawa's work.
Ive been thinking about trying these kind of animes but i dont have a very good history with it, lets just say all of the ones ive watched have been very lousy. Anyone have any suggestions?
jackson robinson for Getter Robo I'd recommend the manga. For Mazinger I'd recommend shin Mazinger z which can be found of Crunchyroll. Just don't let the first episode throw you off
Gurren lagann was good. I liked cross ange. Ive been watching gundam 00 but its just alright. Code geass was pretty good. Kotetsushin jeeg was alright but at least its short. There are some parts of shin getter robo in armageddon and in new getter robo. New getter is actually a completely different robot but it reuses parts of the shin getta manga that were never brought to anime so you can just pretend its the shin getta.

I'm looking to dabble in that field. I just don't know where to start. Maybe one day you will hear a familiar fantastic voice on a commercial or tokusatsu/super robot documentary.

I believe the alternate face and chest piece are suppose to make Getter 1 looks like when it's in the original manga.
