      Look, it just has no point. Its not like a cool project car like a bmw e34 or some mercedes from this era that builds up value if in great condition.
      In this country (estonia, the same where flexiny is from) mint condition lancers are worth like 500-1000 euros. For this price, you might find a road legal car that is ready to drive, has been really well taken care of and maybe even has a previous owner, who is some older guy who hasnt driven it in winter. Besides this, it has been standing still for 12 years (it propably needs new seals, new belts and etc). Its not like you take an engine that has been standing still for 12 years outside, turn the key and go to the MOT, lol. If somebody needs a donor for his Lancer then this should be a decent car for it for like a few hundred euros.

    That just show the reliability of japanese cars, sitting for 12 years and AC still works, coolant is full, oil isn't leaking, power steering works fuel pump needs a bit of push but it works afterwards, i has this exact engine on a pick up that my family bought brand new since 2004 and it's been used daily until now, the odo meter has probably went back to 000000 multiple times by now and thing is still running very strong💪

    I've just bought one of these a couple of days ago! Just love the old school design and style of those Japanese cars. I am 35 and the car is almost my age still running great!! Some minor cosmetic work to get done, change all liquids and filters and ready to go and be happy. My engine is 1.5l fuel injection. The car was manufactured in 1990. 👍❤️😉

    Nice one. I own a Mitsu Colt of that bodystyle, its also a 91 with the 1.5 12 Valve 90HP engine and I love that car. For me, the cars build in the late 80ies and early 90ies are some of the best Mitsubishi ever built. I also own a 1990 Lancer Station Wagen with the bodystyle of the older pre 1988 generation but with the same 1.5 12 Valve MPI engine, a 91 Eclipse and a 97 Space Runner. They are all great cars and are super reliable with regular maintenance, the main thing you have to keep an eye on with these generation is rust.
    Edit: Changing the Clutch on these is rather easy, because the fivespeed gearbox isn't really all that heavy (it weights around 35 Kg) and is easy to remove, since only one of the four mounts connects to the gearbox and thus has to be removed, the other three are connected to the engine block (unlike newer mitsubishis build after 96 with the swapped engineposition, where three of the four engine mounts are actually connected to the gearbox instead).

    • @Knaeckebrotsaege
      @Knaeckebrotsaege Před rokem +1

      I had an 89 Colt with a similar body style to this. Absolutely loved it, but some c*nt in a BMW SUV who thought it's more important to dick around with their phone rear-ended and totaled it :( Haven't been able to find one that's not too far gone since then (this was in 2011). The few that are available and not a swiss cheese have the sellers ask ridiculous prices, and it's only getting worse...

    • @Enakaji
      @Enakaji Před rokem +2

      @@Knaeckebrotsaege Its the same in germany, wich is why I'm taking really good care of mine. Over here you can actually check with the official Departments how many vehicles of a specific type are still registered on the roads and currently there are less then 80 of that generation of Colt registered in all of Germany.

    I bought a non-running Lancer C62 with the 4G15 8V engine for 600€. Turns out it was the ECU at fault, the injectors did not open. Sent it for repairs and for 180€ got the ECU fixed. Since then I have a running perfect condition Lancer with 61000km for 800€. Recently I’ve bought another one. The GTi version for 850€. It wasn’t running for 8 Years. I had to also clean up the tank and replace the fuel pump. The car is running but it still has a lot of work to be done. Very impressed by the Japanese for making such reliable and cool cars!

    It just astonished me that people abandoned cars for some of the silliest reason, such as a clutch. I understand cars don't last forever. However, even new vehicle still requires money to maintain them. I swear some people have way too much money. I drive an 18-year-old Ford with almost 500,000km and, it's still run great and have no intention of upgrading until I need to!

"putting in a new clutch means the parts and labor will end up more than the car's worth", it pains my heart to see people being such penny pinchers that they'll have no problem leaving a nice car in which everything works to die just because one of the wear items needs to be replaced.

    I remember when they’ve been literally all over the shop. My relatives had one of these and it was to use his words heap of Japanese crap it was always something to fix on it I think it was a red 1992 Mitsubishi. Nowadays I’ve never seen one on the road in Sweden.
