    Remember folks, casinos don't expand if there are no losers.

      Stations is upgrading, expanding and building new casinos at the same time. What does that tell you? For one, they offer virtually nothing to the players. Why would anyone play at a Stations property when all they want is your money and give you no appreciation.Remember this? .....Station Casinos wouldn't directly admit to 13 Action News that they're not planning to bring back buffets. But in a recent earnings call, Frank Fertitta, the CEO of Red Rock Resorts Inc., said, "We’re going to put the dollars into the place where we make money. It’s going to be a focus on slot machines and table games, our primary business. We’ll have several restaurant options. We will not have a buffet."

    Nightly rates close to $1k is ridiculous and not worth it for the Durango.

      They don't care about locals. Why no buffet, theater, bowling alley, live entertainment? They don't want to enterain you, they want to gouge you for every nickle and dime. Why would any local want to play at Stations?

    Give them their own exit off the 215 and divert some of that traffic off Durango

    • @1kenodave1
      @1kenodave1 Před 2 dny +1

      You want to pay for a dedicated exit, so they can increase their revenues? If they want it, let Stations pay for it.

    Not to rain on your parade--but the salaries so boasted by the casino industry will not allow you to own a home...whereas decades and decades ago, such an opportunity was available to the average casino worker. You can rarely find such an article on net now with the censorship, but one reason the workers came to work casinos in this insufferably hot climate in the middle of a dry desert with no water is that they were able to own their own homes--however modest. They were able to have an single family home with a yard for the kids to play in. So...what's the benefit to workers now? I'd say losers...what's their benefit? Can they own a home? Workers are settling for less and less. Import a few more thousand more illegal immigrants, and the likelihood becomes even more unlikely. No...the illegals don't work for hotels, but they suppress the governing wages of an area. Well documented. Look it up. Why would you come to a region with essentially no water and water allocated to the rich only with no chance to own any property? Go somewhere else.

      Well said. Since the 80's, I have witnessed the wealth transition in this town. Working in a casino isn't a career...almost comparable to "high paying" fast food jobs. Can't own a home like the old days. Luckily I have paid off my mortgage.

      Stations is anti-union for that reason. They pay some of the lowest wages in the industry and have no intention of allowing a union to negotiate for better wages and benefits.
