Scott - I have watched all 138 of these. Many (site planning, carpentry, plumbing, electrical) I have said “I can do that”. Some, I have said, “not my skill set, but I could figure it out”. This one, I say “not in a million years!” Nicely done.

Nice trick with the dimple texturing sir. I dont have room for a machine that size, so necessity required a different approach.. i hotglued marbles to 3/4" ply 24"×24", and place material on top using a rubber mallet or deadblow hammer for desired results. You can be gentle a leave a wrinkle, or really beat some visible distressing into said sheet. Love your channel on every topic. Never stop learning 🇺🇸👍🧡✝️🙏

3M VHB is my go to tape for this kind of work. Wipe down with acetone then alcohol first. It will be stronger than just about any attachment method after it sets. Modified acrylic adhesive is used, and it gets stronger with age and heat, to an upwards limit of 100PSI for some on these substrates.
RP25 or 5952 are my personal favorites. The RP is probably the strongest, and comes in different thicknesses. 8, 12, 25, 32, 45, and 62 mil to my knowledge. 32 and 62 get the most use from me and are the easiest to get from places like tape case.
It is just gray so make sure you have it concealed enough

I know what you are saying with regard to working with copper. I helped a friend make a replacement "standing seam copper roof" for an old house a few years ago. We woe cotton gloves when working with the copper sheet so that our body oils would not leave fingerprints that would show up as the copper weathered outside. It was a fun job though.

It turned out nice. This is one of those projects I would have barreled into headfirst and I'm pretty sure it would have turned out alright. Though, your texturing is much neater than anything I could have done. Anyway, I sure wish I had at least attempted something like this, instead of just buying a cheap vent hood and piping it outside. It's still fantastic, you can smell bacon cooking downwind from a mile away. But it's nothing neat and custom.
It's like when you get to THAT phase of construction, you're just done. You want to pass the codes, and move in, preferably before winter. And grand plans become good enough. To build a spec house like this one day would be an absolute privilege. Though even here I can tell, Scott is really ready for it to be done!
Really, they should do another. One that has a little land, or a lot more land, and isn't on the side of a cliff. And then move into it. Scott's own version of Ken Jordan's dream home. Keep up the good work.

Kudos on texturing the copper this way since the Plywood is soft enough to emboss the pattern from the steel and its give lets the sheet stretch. One way to make copper more rigid would have been to take say 3\32 brazing rods then spot solder it across the back and its ribs would of keep it flat quite nicely. Copper will begin to tarnish if left raw over time and will begin to look like old pennies unless its polished regularly or sealed with some clear laquer. The green patina many love can be gone artificially and its they sold in a ready made solution since it takes years to form just from oxidation. Indeed the Statue of Liberty had the color of a chocolate bar for awhile after it was erected and its iconic patina protects it from the elements nearly 150years later....
