  • Took my new to me 1975 Porsche 914 for a nice Sunday drive in Northwest Indiana. Drove up to Lake Michigan and past some of the Century of Progress Homes from the 1933 Worlds Fair (see the pink house). I'm loving this car!

Big rubber bumpers perfect the design of this car with a longer, more finished look. Also practical for daily driving.

Hate the music. Let's just hear the 914

I would have left it just the 914 Sound if there wasn't so much wind noise. I'll try harder next time.

Horrid. I wanted to like this video as I love these cars. To each his own I guess!

+1.. Great Porsche video ... Get's played on the big screens in our pool table room... The exhaust note brings me back to the yellow '73 914 1.8l once owned... Fond memories ....

very nice thumbnail. I own a 75 too. I used to want to convert my bumpers to the chrome style, but after getting my car back from the shop for a rebuild, realized how beautiful those black bumpers actually make an orange 914. Here's the catch though, they're very hard to photograph well - your thumbnail captures how the 914 actually looks in real life, quite perfectly.

Rev match on the way down, your gearbox will thank you.

Man even a simple pause between gears. The very first shift from first to second in the neighborhood had me raising my eyebrows. I just assumed everyone makes that transition more gently. This is not a tiptronic or PDK. Be kind to her.

Nice video. If you can, and are willing to, please post the same video at its regular speed without the music. I’d love to hear more of the engine. 😊 Thanking you in advance.

I've been making some shorter videos on better roads that I haven't pulled off the GoPro yet. My plan was to leave the music out and just run them at normal speed with real world audio. I noticed even with a wind cover on the GoPro, I'm still getting a lot of wind noise at speeds above 50 mph. I have an external mic that I used on my old GoPro that I'm going to try on this camera. Thanks for watching!

I've taken a few videos since making this one and the audio is terrible. I need to work on an external mic set up that will work.

I live in the UK, and you don’t see many of these at all. I really like the size of this model and I’m sure it would be like a go kart. What camera did you use to film the footage, comes out really nice, I’ve been using the iPhone 11 to get started but might upgrade to GoPro or osmo.

Thanks Graham! I shot this with a GoPro Hero 8 Black with a foam protector around it to try and reduce the wind noise.

The choice of having "music" instead of engine sounds surprised me at first, but then I noticed your "boy racer" flip flops and then I understood why! Oh well, I guess at least you weren't wearing crocs!!!

@@DaringGreatlyRacing It takes great skill to drive any manual car in flip flops. In my case, I really prefer to drive barefoot. I've seen many Porsche owners drive barefoot. There's a lot more feel to the pedals. Have you ever tried driving barefoot?

@@DaringGreatlyRacing excellent thing. In any case, when I'm wearing flip-flops of any kind, I usually drive barefoot: in this case I have maximum sensitivity on the pedals.
