i was listening to him talk about that. He says he was always fine, he just likes to have a fun party night sometimes and the paparazzi took that and ran with it.
He was just very young, and honestly he did very well because star kids honestly have, i imagine, very complicated lifes and some have very tragic ends, either when they grow up or not at all.
I’m not a fan of Jimmy’s interview style normally, but I gotta say, props to him for giving Macaulay the respect he deserves, and mentioning how we all love him. Ellen’s interview was definitely very dry, and impersonal and I know her interview style is more understated, it definitely didn’t have the respectful tone that this one does. Jimmy actually cares and it shows.
that's what i love about jimmy, i know a lot of people get annoyed with him and i get it, but he seems like a super nice dude and always fanboys over his guests. that's something i really appreciate in a talk show host bc that can be smth thats v hard to come by these days

The problem is, we don’t have John Hughes to write it, and make sure it is filmed in the same style. Not sure if Chris Columbus would come back on board and do a new one. That and I think John Hughes family still owns the ultimate rights to these films he did. So, I don’t know if it could be done even if they wanted it to be. Without the involvement of John Hughes wife and kids. Unless one of his kids decides to try to write it. I think if it was done right, it would be incredible. The problem is, with all of this Woke crap going on… I think it would be very hard to get the same feel and look. Too many hurdles to jump to appease everyone.
John Hughes turned Mac into an national treasure at a very young age, and it’s good to see he’s taking care of himself in his older years and that the media world still gives him some attention. He deserves it.
He should play the Joker, he's got the laugh and the face to nail it. He's still a pro, looks healthy, sounds great, met him a while ago and he was a real gentleman, would love to see him make a killer comeback.

I’m 29 and I always watch Home Alone, Home Alone 2, and even Home Alone 3 Every Christmas. I feel bad for Macaulay when he was a kid though. When he finally did call the police he did it from the neighbor's house (pretending to be the neighbor). Home Alone 2 however, he has absolutely no excuse to not call 911 right away except for wanting to torture Harry and Marv EDIT- I'm now realizing they kind of TRIED to give him an excuse in HA2:LINY by having the concierge threaten him with the police for "stolen credit card" but it's a much flimsier set up compared to the first one. He was "defending" Duncan's Toy Chest, not his own house and ended up calling 911 from a pay phone in the park, plus he signed the note he threw through the window with his own name.

He thought he was getting in trouble for his dad’s credit card but then again that was probably after he seen or the bad guys but yeah, that even in the first one I was cut a I didn’t think about as a child, but I thought about that too, when I watch the homeland the other day and call the cops but I didn’t think about the toothbrush thing

I honestly always felt that scene where he runs off with the toothbrush was in there for that very reason - to give Kevin a legitimate (if from the POV of a child) reason to be afraid of the police. He later does call the cops but pretends to be his neighbour on the phone and calls them to the neighbour's house not his.

He was "defending" Duncan's Toy Chest, not his own house and ended up calling 911 from a pay phone in the park, plus he signed the note he threw through the window with his own name.

Kevin didn’t call the cops because the phone lines were down and by the time they were up again (how would he know?) Sure you could say how would he know if the phone lines were even down at all, but he was an eight-year-old who was free of his family who he hated and by the time he began missing his family, he was busy protecting his home from two burglars who he did actually call the cops on.
Also, Kevin first met Harry when he was dressed up as a cop and as a little kid, probably didn't know how to trust police.

I honestly always felt that scene where he runs off with the toothbrush was in there for that very reason - to give Kevin a legitimate (if from the POV of a child) reason to be afraid of the police. He later does call the cops but pretends to be his neighbour on the phone and calls them to the neighbour's house not his.
