I passed T4 (Truck Brakes) in November and am about to take T7 (Truck HVAV) in a couple weeks. Great advice and one thing I would add (even though I have little experience) is don’t expect to see the practice questions on the tests. A lot of people at my job complain that the study guides don’t help because nothing in them was on there. The best way I can describe these guides is you have to study like a math test, not a history test. Studying history is memorizing things (who was the first president/what year did WWII begin/how long did the War of 1812 last/etc). Studying math is knowing how to apply what you know (A+B=C). In class, you may have to do a problem like 2+2=4, but the test may have 3+3. Just know that those practice tests give you an idea of what the test is like, not real test questions.
@@HowtoAutomotive Got my G1 and T7 next Monday, wish me luck lol. G1 is supposed super easy, but I had trouble with it because I’ve never really done automotive professionally, mainly diesel.
@@HowtoAutomotive my apologies. I meant real world, do you think someone with in depth field experecise solo could take this test without reading books ?
@@miguel1waterpolo1guy you can buy the practice tests off the ase site, they arent exactly the same obviously but chances are if you pass that you'll pass the actual test. Goodluck if you havent already bud
I know this is late and don’t know it you ever did it, but thought I’d share. I work with a couple guys that took the tests (they require them at our job). They took them without studying any books. One passed all 8 (master truck tech) and the other passed all except for automatic transmission. If you’re patient and have good reading comprehension, you can absolutely pass without any study guides.
Took this advice to heart a little while back. Today I passed my T2 Diesel Engines ASE exam. THANK YOU!!!!
YeeYee Diesel That’s awesome congratulations!
What study guide did you use?
WHAT'S WORKED FOR ME IS KNOWING HOW THE SYSTEM THAT I WILL BE TAKING A TEST ON WORKS !
The hands on experience is very important in my opinion, also the no alcohol advice!

Congratulations on passing the test. I agree with your math assessment. That is a good way to look at it.

L1 is no joke, one coworker took it like 6 times and spent over like $500 lol
It’s A tough one to pass but worth it when you get it.
Any tips on how to approach the test??
Feeling a lot of pressure and overwhelmed on how much terms and a lot of information on the guides
He spoke on mental health. You have to be in the right state of mind.

🤣
Hi buddy. How or where can I get that kind of books
thanks
Great tips brian, do you have the link for this book??
STEEVE DAVID Nicolas when I get home I can link it up.
💯💯💯
How much?is there a level?
What is L1 mean
I think it’s advanced engine performance
For someone who doesn't have money and has real world experience ' should I get this ? I don't plan on working for a dealership.
I would use a research to find out which study material be best for you. There’s lots out there to choose from. It never hurts to get certifications.

What percentage do you need to pass 80% ???
Sean Kandel 70%
have to recert on some its every 5 years is it still 20 questions?
For A1-A8, they vary from 20-25 questions per recert.
@@hackerman2k oh ok still the same thanks
Never even thought about eating right.
Every little thing helps.
