Without giving you the gory details, I had my favourite 1970s disco track by "The Players Association" - "Turn the Music Up" on CZcams while I was on the toilet.
My toilet visit didn't go as expected - and CZcams ran over into the next video ...
It was "Take That to the Bank" by Shalamar.
My ears pricked up - what??? how??? who??? ... I knew it wasn't any of Jamiroquai, Brand New Heavies or Incognito .. must be another mid-1990s acid jazz band I missed ...

This song is fascinating when you really put your ear to it. The rhythm carries the melody throughout the entire song. Yet it's never repetitive or overbearing. There's a lot going on within the instrumentation as well as the vocal performances in every section of the song. No part is exactly the same. Everything in this song just seems to totally click. Great composition and recording. It's a masterpiece of our BLACK culture.
