    Is plant in family of Asteraceae. Its common known as Mexican sunflower or tree marigold. The plant has its origins in Mexico.
    This plant is a weed, but has a great potential of raising soil fertility. It has become the best alternative for commercial fertilisers. It increases crop yields and soil nutrients.
    Its rich in nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium which are essential for plant growth. It also contains calcium and magnesium.
    How To prepare liquid Fertilizer
    In recent past,the prices of commercial fertilisers have skyrocketed, which has negatively affected farming. But are you aware that the trees and shrubs in your environment can provide nutritious fertilizer. One of the best plant is Tithonia diversifolia.
    How To Make liquid Fertilizer
    1. Chop off the leaves of Tithonia diversifolia and place them in a bucket.
    2. Add water to the container till full.
    3. Leave for about for atleast 7- 10 days in the sun.
    4. Stir every day to aerate it.
    5. Filter to extract the liquid.
    How to apply
    Dilute a 10 litre bucket with 10 litre of water.
    Apply on plants atleast once per week.
    Nutrition component.
    Nitrogen 3.17%
    Phosphorous 0.3%
    Potassium 3.22%
    Calcium 2.0%
    Magnesium 0.3%
    Nitrogen is important because its essential for plant growth and photosynthesis. Plants use nitrogen in the synthesis of enzymes. Lack of phosphorous causes stunted growth in plants.

    Wait how do you know what the nutrient percentages?? Did you take it to a lab for testing?

      Thank you for your question Ethan, regarding the %. For this video i didn't take to the lab but reliable research has been conducted regarding the plant. You can google researched articles on the plant and get more reliable info.

      Many researches have been carried out about this green manure in African countries such as Kenya. If you search you will find them. I'm surprised to see Tithonia has much better N and K percentages than Farm yard manures. Tithonia : N 3.1, K 4.1 FYM : N 1.8 , K 2.2 . Tithonia's phosphorous content and ph is lower than FYM

      I think there is no problem either because decomposition depends on bacteria and not the size of the leaves

      Averaging about 3.5% N, 0.37% P and 4.1% K according to research.
