- The Raconteurs live at Electric Lady - documentary and concert film
Listen to The Raconteurs: TheRaconteurs.lnk.to/listenYD
In September 2019, The Raconteurs visited legendary New York City recording studio Electric Lady Studios to record a live EP and interview with Jim Jarmusch in honor of the studios’ 50th Anniversary - exclusively for Spotify. ‘The Raconteurs: Live at Electric Lady’ is a documentary and concert film showcasing the day, including their explosive 7-song live performance (also featured on the Spotify EP/Enhanced Album), the recording of “Blank Generation” (a cover of The Voidoids song originally recorded at Electric Lady), and a conversation with Jim Jarmusch.

Thay are. just got up my cell and now everyone knows that it wonder . Do your best just love jack very on
I am lionel ò
All I know is I'm thankful for the Raconteurs *whispers * and Queens of the Stone Age
I had no idea how good this band was. It is rare that a film can capture the energy of a live room. These guys nailed it.
Damn, I miss concerts.
me too
Soooo much!
Fk yeh👍🎸🕺🏻🎼🎤
Watching Jack get taught how to play something is wild. Really shows that you never stop learning
Jack's intro on "It Might Get Loud" is still my favorite of all time.
I have absolutely nothing against The Edge, but I couldn't find the why he is a part of this documentary...
@@whipshaw I disagree, but hear me out. No one can deny that he was able to find his own distinctive guitar sound. It's very expressive and unmistakeably his. Not many guitarists who have come and gone can say that. He's not a virtuoso like Page or White but he's a wonderful audio sculptor that is able to set landscapes and encapsulate emotions perfectly with his sound. I initially thought the same as you did when I first watched "It Might Get Loud" but the more I thought of it, the more I realised that he had every right to be up there along side them.
Paul it's completely valid by this point of view and I agree with you but musically speaking, his style became so disconnected when you join Jimmy and Jack. For the documentary purpose it's understandable, but it isn't a musical match...
@@whipshaw Yeah, I know where you're coming from alright. Although, maybe someone else who fits the same style as Page and White would create less of a dynamic in the documentary. The Edge and White were clearly in awe of Page. When he talked/played, they shut the fuck up and absorbed as much as they could. A bit like students of Page. It's nice to see that Page inspired someone like White and someone like The Edge. Two totally different beasts but equally as impressive imo
@@ishyaboy But the Edge just copied style of Keith Levene. Just listen to "Public Image Limited - Public Image". Keith was flexible, avant-garde and forward looking guitarist, the edge from other side just roll his entire career on one "borrowed" sound. Unfortunately Keith didn't make mainstream career and is not as recognize as the Edge...
I’m grateful for the Raconteurs (and the Queens of the Stone Age) as well.
Couldn’t help but grin ear-to-ear when I heard that. Made my giblets all warm and tingly
Amen
I've been on a huge Quotsa kick lately... Check their live in belfont 2005 and 2002 (I believe it's '02... It should be an hour and a half of straight goodness).
I agree about the QotSA butt there's some Butthole Surfers rip off in there too. I love all these bands, and don't mind if they rip something or not! Just sayin'.
@J duuuum
Incontrovertible proof that Rock is not dead.
Listen to that scream of yeah at the end of bored and razed that's summons all the who's energy from won't get fooled again \m/
This band and The Black Keys are keeping rock and roll music alive and well in 2020
“Steady as she Goes” video is amazing. Classic
Classic!
You don't see much of this artistry and creativity anymore. Thanks guys for reminding us of why we feel music the way we do.
In 30 years we will be lucky to have lived to see these bands
Dean is so underrated, very low key guy, very talented guy. Love this guy. God bless you
03:46 "Somewhere far away on a beach sounds nice, nothing on my mind, nothing on my mind"
I was on a deserted beach in New Zealand before Covid listening to this, wish I was back there,.
Wow. Didn't know about this studio. This video was like ASMR for the soul.
Have you been living in a cave?
I meet Jack lawrence after the first City and Colour show in Santiago, Chile. He was so humble and happy for some random guy praising his epic bass guitar skills, much respect.
The Raconteurs are my favorite project by each member made one of the greatest albums of all times
if you like The Raconteurs you should check out Lonely Gimmick - All Along the Watchtower, it gives me that vintage rock vibe but it's also a really creative original take on a classic song
@@SamuelEMPowell131 I'll give it a listen thank you for the information.
I don't know what I'd do without Jack White's music.
I know, right?
A world without his music might have prevented me from killing myself.
Buy a Black Keys album , maybe?

I've been fortunate to see these guys 2 times. 1st time was in 2006 at the House of Blues in Cleveland. The 2nd time was in August 2019 at the Old National Center in Indy...and the bottom line is, they might be the happiest group of musicians I have ever seen. Dont ever change!
My boy Brendan gotta get that bowl smokin' before the real sesh begins. Respect!
Respect for smokin' weed before jammin'? You must have respect for a shitload of people then.
@@DMT353 ok Trump head
@@viniciuscomacento It was a joke about how _a lot_ of musicians smoke weed before jamming. (Newsflash: He's right.. we DO!)
What does Trump have to do with ANY of this? Stop obsessing over him, dummy. it's pathetic and irrelevant.
Drugs are lame.
Anything that Jim Jarmusch is envolved is f*cking amazing!
After 16 hours working, remembering the days I used to play, I went to check upon my messages and ended up here after a good friend shared with me .. now it’s 4am, I’m drunk, couple of good tears on my eyes and want to rethink my hole life. In love with this. Raconteurs always coming thru, being the best on true music attitude
Broken Boy Soldier is still my favorite. It hit me lyrically in a way few songs have.
Brendan has a spectacular voice and the way he uses it with the downward affliction. Much like Chris Helme from The Seahorses. Just gives me a tingle. Love this band, Jacks best project in my ears.
Hi there. I didn't know the Seahorses but your comment pushed me to them. I'm no good in discovering new stuff. Quite loyal.. Thank you so very much. Love the 60s`vibe in his voice. So good. Thank you, stay healthy...and if we ever meet. Free drink, or coffee, or... codeword "seahorse don't drink"
I’m glad these Boys are Back hopefully they can bring rock back into the mainstream with their godly songs!!!
Man this band never ceases to amaze me, such energy and amauterism like Jim says.... hopefully they dont take another ten years for the next one, in the meantime continue to enjoy Help Us Stranger and the live versions, keep that Rock alive!!!
This is the best 60 minutes of the last year for me.
It's amazing that this video and performance is just a free thing that shows up in my CZcams feed. Much love to everyone involved ❤️
In the grand scheme of things, we're not on earth for long at all. I'm glad I was here at the same time Jack White was.
Coming back for the inspiration..
Back again for inspiration
Brendan's face when Jack's talking bout spiking people with acid! 😂 😂
When 😂

Jarmusch - creator of the most memorable movies I have seen. Night on Earth and Dead Man.
In a decent decade of last century, this band would have the place they deserve now.
Love Jim Jarmusch...glad to see him here.
if you like The Raconteurs you should check out Lonely Gimmick - All Along the Watchtower, it gives me that vintage rock vibe but it's also a really creative original take on a classic song
Brendan's voice is like a fine wine
Came back for inspiration again
I simply felt " LOVE " in my SOUL...I was young when Electric Lady was built...but the LOVE from way back then came flooding into my being through SPIRIT...the MUSIC...the admiration for these guys & their LOVE for the MUSIC filled my heart with exuberant joy...Thanks to the masterminds & ALL involved...and to Jim...I'm gonna " TRY NOT TO LET THE FUCKERS GET ME !!! "
Jack's voice at 0:42 16:22 18:54 25:31 and 37:25! 🤘🔥🤩😍🔥
from a listener to the Raconteurs...WOWEEE !!!!!!!!
I luv Jack's smile 😊😊😊😊
Thank God for my "Imaginary Friends" !
Always high energy that lifts the spirit Up. When searching for that "sound" that you can feel through the mind and heart...Yeah, ..The Raconteurs... that's the med for the fix....

LOVE ME some Raconteurs!
Guys, can't wait. I hope everything goes well. Have a great day.
Screw this one disliker and next others, no matter how many they will be! :)) This band is amazing, and all members are talented! Jim Jarmusch is the best filmmaker!
I completely agree🖤🖤🖤
I am DESPERTE to see these guys live, I just can't think of a better band in my generation.

Amazing, just great.
Greetings from Mexico
Absolutely awesome!!!
What a great band! Thanks for this excellent post.
Simply amazing! Thank you!
I'm pumped!
I'm in my mid sixties. If asked if I could go back to my 20's, I always say... nah....
But after seeing documentaries like this, Id have to give it a try...just to go back to do a re-do of cool. I'd definitely get it better and strive to be a part of. I'm really feeling the passion that these guys have, and White's almost too cool for his own good!
I feel 10 yrs younger already!
Jack White is unparalleled genius, a regular Muddy Waters of his day.
AGREED WHOLEHEARTEDLY
I don’t know about unparalleled, but he’s definitely up among the giants.
@DadisDad Not really. I mean they are overselling it a bit, but he is a great musician
Let’s talk more about Dean, man. Great musician and stage performer. Yo, Dean! So glad to see you play!
This is awesome!
Extremely excited!
Cant wait !!!
I love this ! Thank you.
Loved it!❤️
Electric lady is the only place I wanna go , even if I die and come back as a fly , I'll be the happiest fly in that wall.

This looks to be a great series of videos. I'm excited for more.
Great Concert! Love the Raconteurs.

Super cool!
Dig that The Raconteurs stay true to themselves. Thanks for the post...much needed to take a break from the chaos that is our country right now.
Same. This cheered me up.
No doubt, this is what I needed to lift my spirit's this morning.Long live The Raconteur's!!!!
