    It's like production thought of the reasons why we all enjoy Survivor: A likeable cast, reasonable twists and lack of icky situations and just decided to pull a 180 this season.

    In terms of school yard picks, Gabon is the best because it somehow ended up with Fang being a train wreck…twice. However, this had the most balanced school yard pick to start the season, with Palau also being a wreck.

    I love these retrospective videos. Could you do a “The Challenge” winner’s ranking in the future?

    I know a lot of people hate Thailand, but I personally don’t. I do have it bottom tier, but I don’t hate it.
    I have some reverence for this season.
    Robb didn’t want to bring a skateboard: he originally wanted pen and paper, but Jake already brought that. His second choice was a football, but Boston Rob had that in Marquesas. So a skateboard was his third choice.

    This is definitely such a weird season, I do understand the argument for it being a better season then people give it credit for but I understand why people checked out after the “grinding” scandal which whatever happened to was a terrible moment for all parties involved

    I low key like Thailand. Here is why. 1. Robb's story arc was fantastic. 2. I like uniqueness and having the first season which was pretty much old vs young is interesting. 3. I personally believe it plays drastically differently if the school yard pick ends up different. 4. As much as I don't like Brian heidik his journey was great. It was dominating in such a fluid way with little mess ups. I can seperate the player from the person so it's not that big of a deal. 5. The Ted ghandia situation sucks but it's short lived and not a Dan situation that last for the whole season before its gone so turning a blind eye isn't that hard.

    The season has such a gritty grindhouse vibe to it that it's hard for me to straight up dismiss it. I do not like it by any means but I can appreciate how detached from Survivor it feels, similarly to Gabon which in contrast I rlly like

    33:08 Different season, different person, but this scene with Shii Ann always reminds me of the food eating challenge in China.
    Peih Gee having to sit and watch as people actively gag and complain about foods significant to her culture has never sat right with me.

    I'm so confused how anyone believes a word out of Ted's mouth about grindgate. There is absolutely no way that he had his arm around Ghandia (especially after his wife was pregnant for the last 9 months), felt her hair, had his nose close enough to smell her, heard her voice and thought it was his wife. Absolutely no way he half woke up on a beach laying on the ground with a camera crew standing over him and monsoon storms overhead and thought she was his wife. There is just absolutely no way, and I am so confused why any person on the show, behind the cameras, or at home would buy it for a second. Especially when first chance he gets with anyone other than Ghandia he denies anything happened. And that is exactly what he did, the words that left his mouth were "nothing happened". He is gross and despicable and his face on the screen makes this season impossible to watch. And shame on production for the way they handled it and continued to handle any similar events until 34 seasons later and even then seemingly only when the victim was a member of production. Such a disappointment all around.

    a lot of people say this season has "dark humor" I've never understood that, where is it? where's the humor? once Robb is gone there is literally no humor.

    Brian is definitely the most overrated winner in survivor history. People talk about him being an all time great dominant survivor winner, but his game was extremely flawed to the point where he needs to be very lucky to just barely win in what is his best final 2 situation possible

    • @mindovermatterbecomingyour1561
      @mindovermatterbecomingyour1561 Před rokem +1

      I must say I agree yes Brian was the shows first dominant winner but he very easily loses the season to clay had Ken revealed what Brian said to him during ftc I feel like a lot of people don't know this but early in the merge Brian told Ken that they needed to get rid of ted because "we can't have another black winner" which is what Ken confronts him about at ftc but doesn't actually spill the beans that Brian said that had Ken revealed that Brian loses Ted's vote & loses the game also Brian's ftc performance as a whole is just terrible the fact that he didn't know even the most basic info about penny like where she's from or the fact that she's the oldest of her & her siblings is just sad

  • @HyperfixationPres
    @HyperfixationPres Před rokem +1

    I think, if production had edited in more footage of Brian actually being likable and building relationships with the rest of the tribe, enough to give us some reason why everyone was so devoted to him, it would have read better, and it would have made Brian's game look a lot better. Instead, as it is, we just get a lot of Brian's confessionals, so it comes off looking like everyone in the cast was totally fleeced for no reason, and it just becomes...boring. Which is the number 1 cardinal sin for reality TV.

    You argue that Ghandia could not have been trying to manipulate the situation to benefit her game because the result of it was her game being hindered . But that does not disprove INTENT. fallacious to argue that results prove intent

    Ghandia did it to herself. If she hadn't lied to everyone in camp about the situation she would of probably made it further. She was the trouble maker.
