    "I get the gist"and "I get your drift" , two new expressions to replace understand, feels so good to lear new ways to say "understand", and the formal ones are very good, straight and clear!!! Thanks for sharing this useful material

    wondering if only English has this many kind of "de facto" classifications: casual/neutral/formal, or even professional (!?) The latter is the most confusing to me 🤔

      Good question. Most languages will have different 'registers' or styles of speaking based on the situation. These changes allow us to show various levels of closeness and respect.
