Students have come in thousands without the knowledge of ground reality even if they are told they just want to learn from experience as most do .Most students have come to UK because easy to get visa but never realised that they are actually secretly blocked to reach to settlement & the passport. What is the point to waste hard earned & borrowed money on a project of failure? Why people have a deep problem of learning from experience rather from information? There are countless welcoming countries where it is easy to settle & get the passport .And those countries have place (housing) for migrants to live in .UK is full to the neck. The govt knows that very well that there is no housing & less jobs but still bring students because they make money .UK doesn't need students at all ,yes they need so many just to make billions from them.

There's nowhere affordable to rent. Glad I own property as it's unaffordable now. The corrupt UK Government have sucked in millions of people who they see as future low paid people who they can farm for rent. There's a housing shortage of 4 million houses. That's 12-16 million without adequate housing. No place to build them in England as population density is 600 per square kilometre plus and rising because of mass immigration. Many are better off staying at home and studying and starting a business there. If I were a young man I'd emigrate from the UK. My children may have to to afford a house

Situation is also not very different in other Eu countries. I am living in Germany for 15 years and I am engineer but I can tell you the situation is also not better here for eduacted class. I still dont own a house. You have to wait for months for a dr appointment if you have government sponsoped insurance. You do have to pay for everything like your kids education in nursery. In contrast to that those who are not working are living better than us. They are paid social benefits which are as high as my own take home salary. They get monthly payments for housing, food, kids upbringing, etc. They dont pay a penny for kids education and that all staying and home and doing nothing!!
If I had a chance to live for rest of my life I would have gone to Pakistan. Sad that our country dont even offer basic needs like electricty, gas, security . Thats why people never think of going back.

Once u get your status after at least 15yrs dont believe the 5yr rule then u buy a house on mortgage and pay until u die. The mortgage death trap plus expenses. Once your children grow up they are British and put u in a care home. Pakistani girls careworkers come to look after you. They then get stuck in the rat wheel and it all starts again. Yes ,I had same situation years ago.my daughter had appendicitis confirmed by one nhs hospital and then was transferred to children hospital as they didn't had child specialist, when we went to children hospital doctors started treatment for gastritis despite we telling them that other hospital surgeon said its appendicitis and my daughter need urgent surgery.
Well children hospital doctors didn't listen and just kept her on antibiotics, for few days,we seen her in extreme pain which was treated with painkillers but wasn't very helpful. After 3-4 days she was very quiet seems better.
One of surgeon came to see her examined her and said she is quite and better because her appendix has bursted . Because of this she needs urgent surgery as she could die with sepsis.
Thank God after surgery she is fine . But you can imagine how patients has been treated here . Uk is not recommended for settlement. Choice is yours

Trust in your skills; hard work in our field will lead to opportunities, meeting new salary thresholds. I've been in the UK for 15 years and same situation was imposed in 2008 and in 2011 where they closed the PSW but i was fortunate enough to secure work permit with an accounting firm, and giving up isn't the answer. Instead, consider your options - if not the UK, which country? Dont react but proactively decided the pros and cons of leaving uk and settling in another country. #harrisspeaks

Salaam, aap ne ek acha thorough analysis dia hay. I agree with visa costs and continuous cycle of saving and paying the government. But there are a few things jin k baray aap ko sochna chahiye while making a decision. NHS is slow but highly beneficial if God forbid someone is diagnosed with Cancer, Heart Condition and also in end to process of planning to extend your family. Secondly one of the world's most sought after and probably the best education system (and free). Thirdly massive religious freedom and adjustability. Lastly, unbelievable cultural freedom, community, belongingness, in other words you can almost feel at home. Other perspective is, ask yourself if not the UK then where else?? There will be visa costs that whole process almost everywhere. Gulf won't give you citizenship ever. Any other Western country would have similar visa expenses. Please don't tell me, you can go back to Pakistan considering the halaat there.

Good points but on two points I would like to comment firstly your emphasis on medical care and time it takes you forgot to mention that you are talking about free medical care which is almost non existing in PK so if you go private in UK you will be seen the same day as in PK. Second point and a very important one is the security and respect, in PK there is no law no security, in UK you dont have these issues law is same for everyone. All that said good luck with whatever you decide best wishes.

Once you get married and have kids, never come on a student visa for the above factors she highlighted. But if you compare with Pakistan, then you can come anytime with any circumstances as it would be far better than living in a depressing environment.
