I love to see it. Chuck doesnt hide the fact that he loves to eat. Many of us do. And that makes it hard to lose weight and stay healthy. To see that he has been able to achieve star athlete status despite his love for food is truly a show of discipline. And now that he is older and can tap into that discipline is great to see

I was 10 yrs old when Kareem Abdul Jabbar was in his best form in the late 70s.
Being petite and short I was constantly bullied by boys in school and taunted me by calling me “Jabbar”.
Little did they know it made me feel like I was as tall as Kareem because I was a big fan. It helped me overcome the bullying.
The name stuck and old friends still call me Jabbar.
I was so thrilled when I got to see and touch the statue of his likeness at Staples Center. How I wish I could meet him in real life.

I love the story he told last time he was on about going to the Chinese man's funeral. He had just randomly met him at a bar and they became friends
Don't follow basketball, but what got me onto Barkley was his golf swing. Used to make me pee in my pants; could never get enough of it. Then I started to listen to him. He's funny, but he also has insight (and appreciation for those who came before; love that). Then when I started watching clips of his TNT show - how CRAZY those guys are - I really got to like him. I almost wish I followed the sport just to see him more. Really a cool guy.

God, I love Charles Barkley. He is so funny and otherwise awesome.. That was really fun to watch. My birthday is the day after his, and I will be 59. I moved to Hawaii from the Phoenix area almost 13 years ago and love Hawaii but also loved living in Tempe, AZ. I am a huge basketball fan, and the Lakers are my team. My favorite basketball player of all time is Magic Johnson, but I also love Kareem and agree that he should be honored during All Star week(end). I have a Kereem story that is not as good as Chuck's, but I like it. I lived in LA in my twenties and attended Lakers games as often as I could. The players often came out on the court before games to meet fans, and I was there once before a game when Kareem showed up. We were standing next to each other, and I used my hands to measure my waist and then his thigh and made the point that my waist was the same size as his thigh. (I am 5'4" and weigh about 110 pounds). He looked down at me and smiled and patted me on the head, as if to say, "Aw, isn't she cute?" I was thrilled, obviously. : ) Finally, I also agree with everything Chuck said about the Lakers and the Suns. I will support the Lakers but would not be sad if Phoenix won with KD. Again, that was really fun to watch. Thanks. : )
