The problem I have with Tyler Perry is that he only make negative moves he never make positive movies about black people all ways negative why can't he make boy meet girl kind of movies or a action movie like bad boys 🤔 you know how mush that movie made if he wants to write and don't want other writers that's fine just make positive movies you all ways giving the white people something to talk about negative!! I feel like some people didn’t because the violence wasn’t on full display people wanted to see Cory beat Meg up and stomp her out, but Tyler was protecting them both from the backlash from type casting or treating Cory like an abuser in real life or people seeing Meg with bloody bruises. He is smart and protecting us from “them”👀

People are not accustomed to change and indeed this movie was a change from Tyler’s normal movies. Tyler Perry don’t worry about the naysayers because this shows you have the ability to be diverse in your creativity. Looking forward to the next movie.
You're not crazy. People have their opinions, and so do you. I enjoyed the movie myself. That first 10 min caught my attention, and I was sleepy. I usually pause movies and resume later, but I had to see what would happen next. Great cast also.

Different strokes for different folks. It just didn't make sense to me. Who goes an hour and a half to bury a family member. I thought the main characters didn't have money. But they had money so why couldn't they pay for the brothers funeral? The new love interest was creepy stalker who somehow after one night of drinking the woman is like let's do the nasty. It was just all kinds of weird. Just hire black writers and maybe let some black directors in your studio.
That’s what I say. Tyler keep making your movies. We have enjoyed them in the past; however, I am surprised that you are getting sexual in your movies. I can skip the steamy sex scenes. Most actions need to be left to the imagination.

I didn't enjoy the "Divorce is Black". However, Corey Hardwick was absolutely amazing. I sincerely hope some major network recognizes his talent because Corey was fantastic. He really did give his 💯 percent.

He truly needs to hire a team of writers. I never liked his movies. And, I especially felt he dishonored playwright Ntozke Shange's "For Colored Girls who Considered Suicide when Rainbows were Enuf'. Common avoided the crash with the train wreck-Tiffany Haddish, He is straight edge so I can see why Erikah 's weed could be an issue, Serena is an athlete-maybe the didn't have much in common...Taraji and the others who knows- but at least he knows who now. Tyler is top in that particular movie genre; hes comfortable and dont want to leave it no matter how big is platform gets to do other work.
I enjoyed Divorce in the Black. I am tired of the get writer's comments as well. Tyler writes the way he writes. Now, if people want to murmur and complain then please rise above the negative mentality and sit down with your pen and paper, excuse me tablet or laptop and Cranck out a movie script, get the funding, rent the studios and create what you want to see in the movies. There is money to be made by those who want put in the time and the work!

People know how to tear other people apart!! Tyler Perry's movie was not that bad, I've definitely seen worse. People have nothing to say about anything when Hollywood makes a movie depicting us in a not so bright light. At least he is paying actors a decent wage. Also, some actors have gotten their career break because of Tyler Perry.

You know I thought the opening scene for Divorce in the Black was very entertaining. In my culture, I can see that happening. That is our culture. Like it or not...people are very proud when it comes to certain situations. While I would never act that way, I can definitely see it happening and know a few families that would definitely take it there.

I believe one person Tyler is referring to is... Spike Lee! For many years, Lee has been very critical of Perry's movies. Spike doesn't care for none of Tyler's movies AT ALL!

high-brow = people who dare to have standards and don't make up the lowest common denominator that consume his content and aren't resigning to the idea it is enough for Tyler to be a BM making BK movies. He's basically being a b*g*t to BK people who have higher expectations for art than he has for himself. If you are going to create a project for an audience, at least be responsible enough to give consideration to your audience.
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!! At this point, it's obvious that TP targets the "lower common denominator" for his movies. TP knows that they will continue to support his movies. Regardless, if the writing is horrific. I believe TP is aware that he isn't the best writer. Possibly, control/ownership of every area in his rising empire means more that quality of work.
He truly needs to hire a team of writers. I never liked his movies. And, I especially felt he dishonored playwright Ntozke Shange's "For Colored Girls who Considered Suicide when Rainbows were Enuf'. He ruined a masterpiece. I walked out the theater angry and encouraged others to read the book.. Unfortunately, TP will continue to write and produce HIS brand of movies to those jn the black community that loves his movies.

Tyler Perry's writing has made him wealthy beyond imagination, however, he does not produce the kinds of works that will be taught in writing or film schools unless it's a class on don't let this happen to you. His weak plot lines are embarrassingly puerile and stereotypical and it appears as if he hasn't elevated his writing game since he began in the business decades ago. His early audiences have grown up and he still feeding them baby food. It's time he grew up, too.
