  • Installing a new AC Delco starter on the 1983 GMC Sierra Classic K1500. Who doesn’t love laying on their backs in the gravel getting sand in their eyes?! The starter had been continually getting worse and worse and was dragging a lot. As it turned out the post was loose on the solenoid which was probably why it would click half the time then drag and barely turn over, and then eventually fire. It got pretty bad and left me stranded in town a few times so it was time to replace it.

Great film bud! My neighbor has a bad starter on his 85 Chevy and I wanted to give him a hand with the installation Now I'm ready to smash it out and be somewhat helpful, Cheers Pal !

I have a very similar situation with my truck. I believe both our trucks were converted to manuals, (mine for sure though) I have a 1983 and the people before me put and automatic steering column with the wipers on the column. For me though, the column is how you move the wipers. You should do more videos on your wiring situation as it’s helping me a lot! Thanks

TKWH I went to gm and got a build sheet for the vin and other than the column, and originally having a 305 (now 350 confirmed) everything else seems right. Somebody replaced the ashtray door with a colour matched newer old stock one which was weird but the last owner said they did work in the cab. It was always an SM465 though in my case. Glad this stuff is helping!
