“I prefer that reality” - the guy who continuously tried to fill up a cup and dropped it several times.
Probably not the first time he’s wandered in a store and hijacked the slushee machine
I’m 60 and have been a gamer many years I treated myself to a vr and played resident evil wow it was scary you are in the game cool
RE in VR was phenomenal, I remember being stood on top of the cellar stairs with the crazy woman breathing in the dark and I actually said out loud “NOPE...FUCK THAT” and turned the game off 😂😂😂 it took me about 2 hours to psych myself up to actually go back and do it.
Loved these peoples reactions and what they had to say afterwards!!
"Reminds me of man's future in space..."
Folks, we have a time traveler on our hands.
It was a lazer light show in the 80s. You lay back in a chair in a dark room and they project lasers with music. "Mans future, in space!"
I'm 62 and just tried my sons the VR Oculus for the first time like a week ago, I'm hooked! My son just bought a newer version the quest 2 and gave me his original one. Man I'm getting a lot of exercise compared to before. I'm physically disabled and Agoraphobic so stay in my room most of my time. So like the tours to see Hawaii and all the different places just amazes me and the games like saber beats, and dance games let me get more exercise like I said before. My bedroom is very small, and the VR environments create so much space for me if only in my head, LOL, I feel like I'm able to sleep better without all the nightmares and night terrors well a lot less anyway I think that's due to the meditation and relaxation apps. So Cool! Yep I'm Hooked!
Hope you one day go outside with it, it has a super large tracking space so places like a parking lot becomes a personal arena 😄
Glad to hear it! You gotta keep moving until you die, it's the best thing for you. It's never too late; as long as you're breathing, you can learn new things, and improve your physical capabilities, or at least slow their deterioration. I'm almost 40, and am working towards being able to do advanced calisthenics moves. And I genuinely think VR might be able to save future generations from the health epidemics we're currently seeing as a result of sedentary lifestyles.
For us, VR enthusiasts, therapeutic effect of VR is so obvious. I wish more people with disabilities and mental problems could find the new approach to improve their quality of life with VR.
Also there is a ton of social apps that can be used to communicate with loved one living far away. Surprisingly, talking with toy-like avatars in VR is more engaging than videocalls
One of my favorite memories of my aunt, who recently passed away, is having her try Richie's Plank walk. She had an incredible time with it during her last Thanksgiving with us.
Everybody: I dont want to go out on that plank.
That one dude: still trying to figure out a slushie

“YOU THINK I’LL GET F I R E D ?”
I cry every time they come back to the old man with the Slurpee
My great aunt of 90 years I tried VR and it was amazing, she loved to paint so I had her go into TiltBrush and she spent a good 30mins on just painting whatever.
What amazes me even more is she was around when the first computer was invented and now she's experienced being "inside" of one
“Here’s a VR headset.”
*guy gets war flashbacks*
Out of the many things people say vr looks like ive never heard a gas mask until now lol
Edit: vr got auto corrected to be
“Free lottery tickets everybody! Woaah!”
That’s wholesome.
Very well done video. I love how older, wiser ppl almost always associate vr with therapy. I had a friend with only 1 leg. She’s been that way her whole life. When she “walked” on my vr she instantly burst into tears. By the end we were both crying.
"Always wanted to do anything I wanted to in a store!"

I’m so glad I read this before I watched the video... Made it so much funnier than it should have been LOL Damn my ribs hurt...

Ya but he didn’t say he was in in he said , “ we had gas masks” implying that people he knew had to deal with the trama.

Other guy:"it's very seductive"
It was so wholesome when the dude was trying to make slushy awww
“It always does what it thinks i want. Which i don’t want”

Well it’s kinda true bc when you ask Siri or google something it almost always brings up something else about your question instead of just giving you the answer or a yes and no answer
@@FhinxET that's because you have the unreasonable expectation that a voice assistant is intelligent or has the cognitive ability to figure out what you mean. It doesn't. Not yet.
What a fabulous idea! I would love to see Oculus Quests (seeing as they're standalone devices) being used in hospitals for bed-ridden patients to allow them all sorts of virtual freedoms!
2:09 dude really you give elder to play this 😂😂
Wow, as funny as this was, I love how they all thought of the therapeutic possibilities for people who have a hard time experiencing reality the way others can without VR.

Some people just do it in half hour and you ask why they dont over do it if it is so easy? Answer is they over do it and edit it dont release it dont show it dont make their ass get old and used and familiar. Why dont you be evil if we are mortal. I talked with god; he told me "i am mortal and there is nothing left to do. You know humans, 2 billion years ago there was giants alive robots. You ask is it a simulation, maybe we murdered by aliens and living in a server. Truth is it doesnt matter" It doesnt matter if universe is fake or if god is eating us problem is start. Yes, I thought of that as well! So obvious once he said it, and yet I'm sure it would never occur to most tech employees, being much younger than these folks are!
Shows that even diversity of ages is important in your employees, to make sure you're not missing out on perspectives and insights like this!
So true. Earlier this year I broke both my feet and back in a work injury and got my index shortly after. The freedom and joy that it gave me while not being able to do anything else was such a blessing
Leave it to seniors to think up VR for the sick and mostly immobile... That never crossed my mind, yet it makes so much sense..
San Junipero from Black Mirror...kind of a similar concept, albeit on a much more advanced level.
it's kind of like that one Black Mirror episode about a virtual heaven
Everyone talking about black mirror and stuff, m8 this idea for full mobility for old and disable people was explored on mini spies 3
Fr, I didn't think about it at all and now I'm like ofc, that's a great idea!!
Everyone: Completes 2 vr games
John: Tries to fill a cup
VR is not a gimmick and not just for gaming, all the combination of technology that has been made to get to this point. It is truly only going to get better from here. VR is truly the future.
It’s really heartwarming that they immediately thought of how it might help bedridden individuals. We need more wholesome people like this in the world.
Man makes soda the whole time, “I like that reality better”
I just recently got myself the Quest 2 at age 48. Was talking to one of my regular customers about it. He will be turning 80 in a few weeks. Brought out the Quest 2 for him to check it out. He was absolutely amazed. He now wants one after I told him all of the things he could do in VR. Going to ask for one for his big 80th birthday. He quickly thought of how great this would be for so many of the residents in the elderly high rise he lives in. To combat loneliness, and go to places that can't really physically do anymore.
"I've always wanted to do anything I wanted in a store."
"Do you think I'll get fired?"
"Oh my goodness gracious.... that's my brain". 1:38
I lost it at that moment. xD
I was shocked he succeeded in copying his brain. I didn't know that could be done on that game. XD
"You know it's very seductive. You could get hooked on this."
How about we don't tell him the OTHER big reason people like VR.
It’s nice to see how old generation being proud of what the world has came to and which technologies we have now.
1:35 She tried to blow the virtual fire out😂
Well duh that's the point of the VR Kitchen. If there is a fire, you get a fire extinguisher.
@@ferrocha26 He/she meant she tried blowing the fire out with her mouth smh
It's not that crazy considering you can blow out cake candles in the same game by actually blowing
You have no idea how realistic VR feels until you try it. I used to think VR was a stupid waste and would never be as fun as normal PC gaming, but goddamn when I tried it for the first time I didn’t go a day without thinking about it for a month and then I finally caved in and bought one. The level of interaction you can have with your surroundings in VR is insane. You can manipulate every object and it all feels so real. When I first tried job simulator (the game she is playing) I wondered if anything would happen if I shook a bottle of soda. When I shook it the cap exploded off, I let go, and it flew around the store for a bit. I found myself actually ducking to avoid the bottle. It’s really just an incredible experience and I recommend trying it yourself.
The thing I love the most about vr is the way that I can do anything. I can go where I want and do what I like. It makes me feel so free
I like how one dude is just fascinated with the icee machines and just messes around with it the whole time
You did a lot better job on this video than Elders react
I disagree... to short and they did not let them play enough games and not the right ones.
Typically elders have little experience with video games and throwing them into one where you have to use controls more advanced than the basic triggers might be hard for them and off-putting. I think these games (which were more like tech demos) were a better showcase for them.
Yeah I think REACT tends to pander to audience demands (as well as do sponsored reacts) which oftentimes results in less-than-optimal results, although I still enjoy many of them.
2:54 That is the magic of vr. Video games are for kids, and reality is for adults. Vr blends the two, and who doesnt want to feel like a kid again?
Legends say that the old man is still trying to make a nice simple drink

This is so wholesome. Totally got the women's remark about it reminding her of a View-master
I saw a video a couple years ago where they 360-degree-filmed an elderly woman's childhood home so she could visit her it one last time while she was in a nursing home. The benefits of VR are unbelievable, massively underappreciated and totally underutilized.
"I see why all these young people waste their lives with these video games"
🤣🤣🤣🤣
they're not wrong
EDIT: I love video games and i play them all the time, the reason i said this was because i was thinking i could do something better with my time, but i am not saying video games are a waste of time, i seriously feel bad for people who don't play video games cuz they're missing out on so much.
2:21 "I'm Heavily insured" LMAO
No matter how old we are, we almost all want the same thing: an escape from dull reality.
It's so cools seeing them know what to do because it's not a controller, it's just your had, you don't press buttons, you just reach out and grab things

The US is attempting this for soldiers with extreme bodily damage and such. There is one hospital where they treat soldiers who have suffered massive burns across their body by giving them a VR game where they play in the snow, reports show that it helped them lose focus of the pain and reduced the need for medicine during recovery.
