Prefit barrel install. No Go / Go gauge was checked.

  • Installing a Patriot Valley prefit in 7 Creedmoor onto a Zermat Origin.
    This girl had very bad, tooling marks, and was very filthy with some sort of film in it. I just installed the barrel in this video to see if the threads all lined up and then took the barrel back off and lapped the barrel then reinstalled it and I use the go/No go gauges.

    as soon as you touched the anti-seize I knew it was over. That stuff goes everywhere.

    This looks like the contract barrel overrun sale blanks we had. The ones which we said specifically were leftover from a contract and were not our blanks and they were unlapped button barrels.

    You don't need the anti-seize. Also, you need to verify the headspacing before removing it from the vice. It's unsafe to "just assume" its right.

    Since you added a lubricant your torque is no longer 90 but is reduced to 70% of that or 63 ftlbs
