Great review, thanks. I was very lucky to get one of these first Azzuro Blue Limited Edition (mine is serial #66) and have had it since Nov 22. It's a watch I love and will never sell, and the chime has been going continuously for over a year now, sitting on my winder I'm aware there are delays getting one now, but it is well worth the wait 🤞😃
A stroke of genius by CW. I ordered one after *finally* seeing the bird! Such a cool design, and surprisingly subtle, to me at least. I imagine lots of folks saw it right away; otherwise, what an Easter egg to discover! Congrats to your father! for having the foresight to get one already. ("The way-ay-ting is the hardest part..."). Curious what that mesh bracelet is? Might try a titanium one with it.
Bruce: the delivery dates on the website should be taken with a grain of salt. I ordered mine Dec 2022. Scheduled for delivery this month, just over 1 year later. That's 2 delays. We'll see if it happens in the next 3 weeks, or if another date is missed.
I ordered the black dial 2 months after you. They also pushed me back twice already also. They're now saying May 2024, but I have my doubts. I'm also on a list for a AnOrdain model 1, which isn't until 2027. I dont think I'll ever join another wait list. Hope you get your CW soon!
It took a while to sink in at 3:25 when Bruce talks about the movement’s accuracy of +/-20 seconds. Then it struck me! Swiss Made on the dial is great, but the +/-20 seconds can only be British engineering at its worst!
This release was what made me believe what I had already supested was true of the watch industry - 90 90% of watch prices are merketing, especially the high end independents. The Bel Canto's dial is made by Positive coating and the chiming mechanism is finished by Chronode - both companies also supply/finish MB&F, Czapek, HYT, Harry Winston, Urban Jurgenson.
Very privileged to own the two original LE Verde & Azzurro versions...with a Nero on order, 12 months waiting so far & counting.... Incidentally, picking up a Sedna gold Seamaster 300 next week from my local AD....'can't wait.
2:20: I don't think "Swiss Made" is actually required to be listed on the watch itself. There are brands like H.Moser that are thoroughly Swiss-made, way more than this, but refuse to place "Swiss Made" on their watches because they feel that the term and its requirements have been diluted so much.
I really wanted to buy the green Bel Canto, but C Ward took it off the market within weeks. Today’s colors don’t have any appeal to me. CW seems to be playing the same game as other Swiss watch makers who get a thrill of limiting supply in the name of marketing. Therefore, to quote Mr. Wonderful, “I am out”. But great video Bruce!
I paid a deposit on a Bel Canto over a year and still waiting for my watch to be delivered! They do not respond to emails either which is disappointing for a watch brand that is trying to create a fan base.
This timepiece transformed CW from a micro brand into a serious wrist watch brand.

Like other industries, CW may be still dealing with the residual effects of COVID supply chain disruptions. This watch is worth the wait.

Seiko isn’t much better on some of their movements either.
It’s crazy cool! That blue is beautiful…can’t figure why they discontinued it.
I have been waiting for over a year for the purple with bracelet. At least they are holding just a deposit and not the full price.
Should be getting mine any moment now. Black on bracelet. Can’t wait.. Took more than a year since I put the order in.

Yeah, love the green but it sold out even faster than the original blue, in just a few hours, IIRC.
