Cornes is trying so hard to force a narrative of dropped standards costing the eagles two years of misery. The injury list they had was catastrophic for two years - much of it was random things and impact injuries. Now he is trying to make it seem like Harley has saved the club and Simmo. Harley is undoubtedly the best young player in the league, and possibly aince Judd, but what we are seeing is a healthy list learning to play together again. The most important players for the eagles so far this year have been Yeo, Kelly, McGovern and Waterman - three of which have hardly played in recent years.

@@Documentts All young teams are going to fluctuate, the challenge now is to try to lower that and be more consistent. A bottom 1-4 finish will just add to our list to add the depth we need for the next rise 😀 What all these people are missing is it is the new Fitness and development team that has helped turn things around not just Harly Reid !
Yeoy wouldn't say it, but what he meant is we had more injuries, mandatory concussion retirements and retirements of absolute stars of the Club and a whole lot of terrible luck. But we were always going to work through it, despite what we were copping around the country and we are now, starting to move forward again.

After the discussion last week about North winning that pointless game against Gold Coast costing them the #1 pick, it's clear that history has been changed by that game. North are set for years of beltings while West Coast are reigniting the passion of WA. West Coast also has a lot of money in the bank and are probably long way under the cap, so they are going to be able to bring players over.
North really fumbled their future with that meaningless win against GC last year.

The experienced players at Geelong have said the same thing. The young players who come in bring their fresh energy and it energizes the older players to lift and it keeps them going.

Kanes a muppet. Actually Kane, it’s what you get when you have minimal injuries and people can actually have the time to get match fit. Yeo, McGovern and a big amount of players are now back fully fit and playing the footy they can play. Harley is an awesome player, but just one cog in the machine.
The discussion around fitness and standards is rubbish - you can't have fitness when you have the amount of injuries West Coast experienced in 2022-23, and are continually rushing players back underdone just to make up a team. Let's not forget they were forced to field WAFL top up players last year because they didn't have enough availability on their list.
Reid is an absolute freak and the energy he is bringing to the team is massive - but Yeo is a 2x All Australian, 2x B&F, 1x Premiership player. His form hasn't come out of nowhere - he's simply having a proper run at it.
As an Eagles diehard I want to say to all my other fellow Eagle fans… as euphoric as we all feel right now, let’s stay humble until we get a few more wins 👍
Listen guys, i got the biggest wake up call of my life last year. The freak GWS win early last year… i got teary and emotional thinking “the rebuild is over, no more suffering!!”, later on in the season we paid a price for that early optimism 😂😂.
We are absolutely chuffed as we should be… but let’s wait for a few more W’s before we can truly start talking “competitive every single week”. So i am optimistic but cautious of not going overboard 👍.

Harley Reid will be the next Captain of the West Coast Eagles after Allen turns 30. He will be a premiership player. Thats a big statement after 6 games but he is leading the club to get better and asking everyone to follow him for the ride.

This kid might just be the next Selwood - A kid that comes in to a club and defines the culture of that club for years to come. Would love him to move back to Vic and play for my club, but reality is that if he stays on this path til the end of the year, he'll have a long term contract on the table at massive coin and an offer to be the incumbent captain.
Yeah we all see the names playing well, but its the Coles, Houghs, Williams, Chessers, who made this win so good. THE ENTIRE TEAM stood up.
I think West Coast have made good progress, I think they just need to sort their performance department and recruit decent role players to complement Reid and Ginbey

I am not a Collingwood supporter but what about Nick Daicos who has been brilliant ever since he started.
Weren't unfit, we had less than half the squad available at times - and even got to the stage where we had to top up with players from outside the list.
Now, we have a relatively fit list, and look at the difference it makes. Kane wasn't right, don't massage the truth around his B.S.
Few weeks ago Yeo should be looking at retirement, now Yeo is in the top 20 players in the comp. This show is the biggest joke

yeh Harley said last week at an Eagles press conference he was a Geelong nuffy, he supported the cats through childhood.
Im Eagles fan, and the club is working overtime to try and make him feel at home. Ben Cousins before getting drafted hated the Eagles, he was a Cat nut lol. As a kid he went to every Eagles game barracking against them because of his old man (Geelong player) and after getting drafted he completely came around and adapted.
So we got Cuz, Tim Kelly (previously played for Cats), Schoey was cats supporter before coming over. I think all the mentors he has at the moment are Melbourne or Geelong based. I would say the strengths of Eagles culturally is the ability to make our eastern players overcome the struggles of isolation through eastern mentors.
The west is very different so this is something we try very hard on… because if we had the approach of throwing Harley in the deep end and saying “you’re on your own… get used to it”, that would be a disaster 😂.
I am so childishly giddy thinking about the next time Sam McClure makes the next appearance on this show. I am just wondering “what wrong prediction will Sam say next?” 😂😂. I’m a Eagles fan and we are busting his balls so hard
I went down the rabbit hole of previous McClure statements over the past few years on CZcams… and his inaccuracies were astonishing.
Before AFL approved the Tasmania side he was implying that the idea was in shambles while he debated Caro, he was adamant that it looked like it wasn’t going to happen for Tassie. He said Yeo was going to Gold Coast. He locked in Curnow as the 2023 Brownlow favourite. He said West Coast are definitely not picking Harley Reid (not just opinion, but he claimed it was authentic), he said Dusty isn’t staying at Richmond lol.
I am waiting in anticipation for his next stupid prediction.

Nick Daicos is the best first year player ever.
That won't be the case by the end of this year. Harley Reid is a once-in-a-generation player. You can see it after only 6 games.
I think Cornesy is being a bit liberal with the truth.. it was only a month ago he was bagging Elliot Yeo for being unfit, not prepared to do the hard yards, he was an embarrassment to the younger players etc... Its a mark of Elliot that he never responded publicly and just let his footy do the talking. As for our man Harley, where are all those experts who said we should trade him?

Sam McClure has a contract for Harley to sign so that he cannot play for the Eagles in 2025 and for the rest of his Career. McClure's own career maybe in Jeopardy if Harley stays at West Coast
Are those guys idiots. The Eagles had 25 fit guys in the whole squad last year. Sometimes they had to rush guys back, which then led to recurring injuries. These commentators would know full well what eventuated last year and how they had to rest guys from mid season to enable them to recover. They also know that a few of them including Yeo and mcgovern went to a specialist in Qatar offseason and Yeo has modified his running style to reduce inuries. Nothing to do with fitness. Fundamentally dishonest.
