Which Cultivar Is Dahongpao Oolong Tea?

The famous Chinese oolong tea Dahongpao (Da Hong Pao, 'big red robe') is shrouded in myth, not the least of which surrounds the six 'mother trees', which are no longer harvested. So which cultivar is modern Dahongpao made from?

To our knowledge, number 3 and 4 were not further propagated. They are just two plants, grown from seeds, from which no cuttings were taken to create cultivars... But, who knows, maybe this is not true and, out there, two other cultivars share genes with mother trees 3 and 4. Let us know if you discover it and we will update the video 😊
