I've had 4 meningiomas over the past 21 years. I have a wonderful neurosurgeon who has been able to excise every one of them.

I have two one pushing the cerebellum across . Next to the spinal. The other higher up look substantially bigger than the ones shown here. My , sight ,swallowing, balance and breathing are all affected. I have seizures and memory loss. Have been told about the risks. No life if it's not operated on. But so many risks with the bigger scull based tumor. Due to spinal chord involvement. Either way the outlook is going to be a huge challenge. Awaiting a surgery date. Can't wait to start rehabilitation if I make it. My executive functions are not affected. Still studying despite the pain and eye sight problems.

@@attiyaandrew7746 had surgery got far fewer symptoms. 7 weeks post surgery. Rehabilitation is going better than expected after 14 hours of surgery. I Defeated the odds.
My wife has a WHO 2 in the sphenoid wing, she is blind in one eye and other than that she lives a full life. It has grown to 6.5cm and so she has to go under the knife and then radiation on the 30/12/2022. This is worse than anything I've faced in my life as I feel powerless to this but do the best I can to keep my wife happy and comfortable.
Hi, my doctor recommends me to do radiation therapy. I’m afraid of side effects. What kind of changes did you see? She lost hairs? or memory loss? or…..
How is your wife doing? My 15 year old son was just diagnosed with a large sphenoid wing meningioma that has encased his left carotid artery. He has eye pain and papilledema, but no vision loss. We are located near the DC area and trying to find a surgeon.
I had a 6cm grade 2 a-typical meningioma removed in January. Going through radiation now. I had drop foot, left side weakness, dizzyness, headache, blood clots, memory issues, short term mostly, it was on right frontal convexity.
My husband had exactly the same tumor and size like you had. After surgery in May 2021, he 's now has short term memory loss, confusion, left side weakness.

Praying for you had a meningioma, grade I removed , this is my second surgery it was residual. I feel good but there's always something. Smile and enjoy your days.
why is an aneurism clip added after a meningioma tumor surgery?
Thank you for this information. My 19yo daughter has an M in left temporal-occipital which is causing seizures. Attempted resection was not successful due to mass effect and risk as vein of labbe runs thru the middle of tumor. She went on to have radiation but still struggles with seizures and other issues. Will there ever be a medication that can be given internally (immuno therapy, anti neoplastin etc) to shrink these hard to resect tumors? How close are we to something like this?

I go for my MRI this week. Left side weakness. So I don't know. My meningioma is near mid line, I believe favoring the left side. It grew a small amount every year, but this is my 4th year mri so I'm praying 🙏 it didn't get much bigger. And maybe unrelated but I'm so tired all the time.

I was diagnosed with an Optic Nerve Meningioma in late fall of 1999. Finished radiation in May 2003 to stop/slow growth. Wondering what the symptoms might be if it has started growing again and has reached the brain through the optic nerve canal?
