Steve's 56 Chevy Bel-Air 2 door hardtop came in needing extensive rust repair. Eckert's Rod and Custom replaced the roof and structure, the inner and outer rockers, the inner and outer wheel tubs, both quarter panels, tail light patch panels, trunk, hood, and the front valence. While the car was apart Eckert's Rod and Custom added a pair of mini-tubs. Eckert's Rod and Custom then continued to replace the front of the factory frame with custom rails, a Heidts front suspension, a Ride-tech rear 4 link and a Ford 9 inch rear end with Wilwood brakes on all 4 corners. Eckert's Rod and Custom added a brace to the frame to stiffen up the ride. Eckert's Rod and Custom trimmed the car with Dakota Digital gauges, vintage air, and a custom interior keeping to period styling.

This project probably shows how to burn a bunch of money on a car that now is "may be" 10% GM and all else re-manufactured (basically a sheet metalman & bodyman's nightmare). It would seem that dealing with "Danchuk" or one of the companies that manufacture NEW Chevy parts would have been alot less expensive than what was shown here. The end result is great, although I could not call it a "home run".

Not much of the 1956 Chevrolet remaining now! 😒

Just my humble opinion, but those wheels don't work. Rest of the car is a work of art.
