Col. Pinchasin provides a message to the Baltimore District workforce from the #FSKBridge site.
🏗 Debris and wreckage removal continued into May this week as we work toward a Unified Command top priority of safely and efficiently opening the Fort McHenry Channel by month's end.
🏰 Year-round, Baltimore District operates and maintains 290 miles of federal navigation channels as part of our area of responsibility, an area which covers 49,000 square miles in six states and the District of Columbia, two watersheds, and 7,000 miles of coastline.
🔍 Our interservice partnership with the US Navy's Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Supervisor of Salvage and Diving (or SUPSALV, for short) is enabling much of the salvage effort required by the scale of this response, supported by its standing contracts.
