  • How To Swap Honda CB750 Exhaust Pipes [4 into 2 Short Pipes] Motorcycle Exhaust Swap Guide | Part 8
In this part 8 Honda CB750 Bitsa build episode, I remove the old exhaust from my CB750 project. Originally I intended to fit a new(ish) Delkevic exhaust system, but as I have found more problems along the way I decided to temporarily fit another, less ghastly exhaust that I have from a previous project. :)
Here's what I used in this video:
    Big hammer - ebay.us/eohPO9
    Impact sockets - ebay.us/Y3IQvd
    Small impact driver - ebay.us/5hUCFT
    Wooden drift - ebay.us/SOP6DS
This project is taking a little longer than I intended. Mostly because I keep getting involved in other projects, but partly because it is so cold in my workshop at the moment. I am thinking about some kind of heating system, but it will be Springtime before I do anything about it :)
When I removed the original exhaust I noticed that there was damage to the cylinder barrel that may have been caused when a previous owner was removing the exhaust and missed with the hammer. I have found lots of gorilla mechanic (you probably think that is me) issues along the way with this bike.
I’ve decided to see if the bike runs before I invest too much more into this bike. I am starting to think that I will have to strip the engine before too long.

We're spoiled here in Florida. The weather is beautiful here in winter. I've always said don't force it, get a bigger hammer! : ) Really enjoy your videos.

I bet we'd be doing plenty of complaining about how warm it was instead, it's one of those British things I think.. ;)
And that's certainly a good hammer policy!

Why did you change the exhaust? Enjoying the videos.

Cheers mate, I switched them out as the old ones were very tatty and in bad condition.

Nice video buddy, I'm learning a lot from your CB750 series. Do you have to touch the carbs (jets) when changing exhaust?

Cheers! Probably 1 size up on the main jets, especially if using cone filters. But these old bikes are usually running a little rich anyway so most don't bother. It all changed when emission controls started to be built in.

Did you use sealant on the manifold to head other than gaskets?

I usually use some exhaust assembly paste. I put it on the copper (or composite) seals. It also keeps them in place while you wrestle the pipes on.

What pipes are those? I have a cb750. I’m going to take off my pipes now, thanks to this video. 👊🏻💪🏻

Hi Cristapher, I'm not sure of the origin of these pipes, but they're 4-to-2 short pipes in shockingly poor condition. Not sure what I'm going to be replacing them with yet. Depends on the direction I take the project in :) Good luck removing your pipes
