As an audio engineer it’s amazing when a band can sound better live than the studio recordings, that’s a rare trait that isn’t appreciated enough in today’s music world.
Have seen amazing live bands who got raped on CD. KEXP quality in sound engineering is rare. Listen to the King Giz stuff. They should make a behind the scenes video!
KEXP is THE standard in audio mastering for live sessions on radio IMO

This might sound weird, but does anybody else feel like the host/interviewer radiates kindness and compassion? Something about her eyes, voice and just her overall vibe. She seems like a really awesome person. Also, that performance of Truth was powerful!

To me what's stunning about Jungle is how it sounds like what some of the worlds best DJ's put together, but instead of samples it's a live band. You get the focus on a steady, groovy beat, with repetition that doesnt get tiring. But you also get the skill and fidelity of all instruments being played by such talented musicians.

It's literally always perfect.
Saw them live a couple weeks ago here in Portland. They are probably the coolest band to ever exist. EVeRyOnE WAS dancing!!
When I saw them for the first time in Mexico in 2015 at a festival they had an hour delay to adjust the sound. No other band from that festival did anything similar, and the result was a PERFECT sound for the gig.

Saw them in Madrid this past Saturday. They were beyond hot, an absolute funky pleasure. Everyone was standing up dancing. Thank you Jungle.
Their grooves are super stellar! Bass & drums are superb. Vocals are over the top. So many influences in their music.
I absolutely love that they are multi-instrumentalists.

This group is f@#$ing amazing!! 🤩 I followed their music since 2015 and they get better and better! This group knows how music evolves with inclusion and the human soul expansion. Haven't seen this or heard this wonderful expansion of music since Earth Wind and Fire.
After Bonobo, it is great to see Andreya Triana also collaborating with Jungle. She´s amazing.

Definitely didn't expect a thunderbird bass to pop up here haha. Turns out the meaty tone works really well to drive the disco groove with some extra power. Awesome band!

Cheryl Waters is incredible. Her appreciation for the artists she interviews really comes through her questions and quips. She's so engaging. I love her!
Never heard them before but this was a performance!. Excellent singers and everyone is killing their instruments.
KEXP is a national treasure. Jungle is fantastic. They remind me of a modern version of The Bee Gees but better because I am not a huge fan of The Bee Gees. Also, I noticed Jungle has new backup singers. I know the previous guy and gal were some of their best mates, at least that is what they have said in interviews. I wonder what happened to them.
The back up Singer looks to be the same girl to me! At least the one without An instrument
The girl (I think her name is Rudy?) decided to venture out and do her own thing with her life but there are no hard feelings and much love between them. And the guy (I can’t remember his name unfortunately) has been focusing on his own projects. I believe he is focusing more on theatre. But they’re all still great friends.

i have constantly sought good music for many decades, why haven't heard of Jungle until today? gotta say, the name is good, that's what drew me to the video. I wonder if they actually play any actual Jungle (DnB) . doesn't matter, I dug this almost 60ish acid jazzy stuff... that drummer has a nice touch! classic motown style bass. incredible studio-quality live performance!

There are two places in the us next year they are going to play and I’m seriously considering flying or driving to Arizona to see them. They are gosh darn fantastic.
you definitely should if you can. i went to their russian gig mentioned here by cheryl, also having to leave my hometown just to see them, and oh boy it was so worth it (it’s not that i’d didn’t know that tho since that was the second gig of theirs for me haha). they’re mental live and no video could even remotely give you that raw feeling of hearing the tunes and seeing the lads just giving their all on stage 🤍

The station's Kevin Suggs is an audio OG... the reason for KEXP's flawless pedigree with artists big and small is down to his masterful engineering. Always elite tier. This is a great example.
