- I went out on the road with some of my best buddies, who are in a Van Halen tribute band called, JUMP.
I'm documenting to see what it's like on the road with a band like this.
What do you think of tribute bands? Hate them? Love them?
Personally, I don't think it matters. Whatever makes the musician happy is the right answer.
Thanks for watching my little vlog. I'm still new to everything here on youtube, so every view means the world to me.

I love tribute bands. They keep great music alive & they introduce it to younger generations.
Especially when the real band is charging $1000+ a ticket for a single show . When Rockstar become the person who they hated and they sell their soul
You have to admit, some of them are pretty cringy. I’ve seen videos on here of various RUSH cover bands, and for the most part they were all cringy.
Now, back in 2017 I did see this AC/DC cover band, and they were friggin AWESOME. They sounded very much like 1980 to 1982 AC/DC, especially their “Brian Johnson”, who was dressed like he was for the Who Made Who video shoot - same denim vest, the same type of grayish wool kangol hat, the Afro-like wig… all of it. And his voice was very 1980 to 1983 Brian Johnson
Their drummer had the same SONOR kit like Phil Rudd played, their rhythm guitarist had one of the exact copies of Malcolm’s ‘63 Gretsch, their bass player with a similar Fender precision bass as Cliff Williams, and their “Angus” and older almost walnut looking SG standard and a black ‘61 reissue with white pick guard… not exact, but similar to Angus’s 1970 SG custom that was black and white
The most recent songs they did were from The Razor’s Edge, with Money Talks being an awesome cover they did, better than Thunderstruck. They even did Are You Ready
Yeah, I can’t say enough good things about what excellent of a job they did. They had the early 80s live sound down perfectly
Cover bands and tribute bands, in my opinion, killed the live music scene at one point here in the U.K.
Not saying there's no talent there, far from it but original bands trying to get noticed and even get a gig at a decent venue were competing against this stuff. I mean look at the line of people waiting to see this Van Halen band, it's embarrassing really, maybe I'm just bitter and twisted, they'll even be signing autographs, a bizarre world we live in
Jump makes me tingle all over
The tingles are real
Classic VH love! No one did it better!! 🤟🤟🎸🎸
John this is incredible. The framing and edits …. Great freaking job dude. Blown away.
Duuude thank you so much!
I saw y’all in Columbiana , OH. Amazing…. I seriously thought EDDIE came back to life and DLR de-aged like 35 yrs. Loved the show 10,000% You guys absolutely killed it as I got to see the “Real thing “
and will DEFINITELY see y’all again 🤙🏻😎
The dudes in Jump really are a bunch of fun loving, good guy and they’re doing justice to Van Halen for sure. My wife, my son and I saw them in Indiana recently and it was fantastic. My 9 year old son walked away from the show with the drummers sticks and the singers bandana and he thought that was the coolest thing ever.
Wonderful! Now your 9 year old is a rocker forever! Still rockin' @ 63!

We had a VH knockoff band play at our local golf course….maybe 250 people there, but that was the sell out number. These guys came in and were great, the guitar player actually played for DLR band at one time. They played all pre Hagar songs and played for two hours…all for $40.00😎 I love good cover bands, play the songs you love perfectly for a price you can afford. Example, my sons girlfriend $500 to see Taylor Swift and she said the seats were nose bleed
This guy has huge balls to do a David Lee Roth impersonation and you know what he pulls it off maybe even better love this stuff
These guys are great and I will check them out again when they cruise through central Illinois.
This is badass man! Always love your work and can't wait to see more!
Thanks man!! I appreciate you. Been too long!
It's all about paying it forward... music heals and brings people together!! No matter what .. keeps the spirit alive !

Did a show in Vancouver and I took my son, for graduating kindergarten, and I got a beautiful photo of my son and DLR with his blonde, hair. .. so sweet.

Great freaking job dude.
I just saw them at JD Legends in OH a couple months ago and met the band. Great guys and It was awesome!
You probably saw me there then too! JD Legends is a dope place for shows
I was at the US FESTIVAL it was badass
JEALOUS
HEY GUYS. WOW ALL US AMAZING BANDS. CONTINUE GO AHEAD JEJEJEJE. GADSKI FROM PANAMA CITY.
This is by far the best Van Halen Tribute Band I've seen on CZcams in the last few days. Is there a direct link to them?
The guy at the beginning of this video kinda reminds me of Andrew Wood from Mother Love Bone. RIP Landrew.
This is rock music's equivalent of orchestras keeping the music of Beethoven and Mozart alive. The tribute band phenomenon is a massive vote in favor of live music. People love coming together to celebrate the music they're into, and that's where you guys come in.
Ha ha I was at the 83 US FESTIVAL \m/ come play So Cal boys
You need to interview Thunderstruck because it's just the right thing to do
Come to Speaking Rock. We will be there!
Awesome video
Good For You Guys ,,, Nice Video ... Chains
Cover bands do keep older music alive but there are a few who should become their own band, writing their own material, and these guys are good enough to do that,I mean an 18 year old drummer??? These guys should,”Hit the ground running,Unchained”🤘🏻🤘🏻
Keep it going,, cover bands are fun party too
Hi eny plans coming to the UK, like Wales Cardiff 🏴?
The "U. S. Fest" Lolz! It was called the "Us Fest" as in me and you=us
That's all that's left.
In the words of Michael Neumann. Unbelievable
You took the words right out of his mouth
I can only hope tribute bands are here to stay, because a lot of the originals have gone way beyond their limit.
The best van Halen cover band.Period
Agreed!
I was at that tribute in ashland
It was at Ashland not this one
I love tribute bands. The Atomic Punks play Van Halen better than Van Halen did post 1984.
Curious, do these touring tribute bands have to pay royalties or something like that to the original artists?
That'd be a great question for their accountant. But you gotta buy some merch for the answer 😀
Ahhh man...
F.U.N.
Sometimes tribute bands are better then what the original band has morphed into.
We were all young once
They are better than the real older versions for reasons.
1. Accurate and professional
2. Young and can handle the rigors of the road
3. Cheaper. With some like Crue... you are paying for "THEIR" lifestyles.
4. Beer is cheaper
5. Ed is gone and Dave can't sing or jump. Alex is MIA.
I don't want to see anyone emulating Dave, just as much as I don't want to see Dave himself. If my choice is between a Roth imposter singing about wanting to nail 16 year olds, and the actual 69 year old Diamond Dave singing about wanting to nail 16 year olds..... I'll double pass, throw on Fair Warning, and weep for the future.
Jump… what a catchy and unique name for a =\//-/= cover band… 💤💤💤💤😴😅
I would go with “The Diver Downs” or “The Fair Warnings” or “The Intruders” or “The Houses Of Pain” or “The Top Jimmys” or “1894” or “The Brown Sound Triumph” or “The Brown Sounds” … hell… even “The Jumps” or “The Panamanians” would do
Something unique, but Van Halen related, like “The Brown M and M’s”
That’s just me, though 😂
Not much of a future in this !
The U.S. fest? Really?
For a Tribute band they act like their the real deal, get a grip your not VH.
I immediately removed the video from being saved as soon as he did that with his nose. Unbelievably disgusting. Forget this and them.
WELL THEY SUCK
The most easiest way to make music. Dont like any of them
Rather see these guys than Sammys crap tour!
LOL true
Write your own damn music
Tribute bands are a joke
