How this film never got an Oscar nomination for Best Visual Effects I will never understand.
I think people were too bothered by the shaky cam to not overlook it. Just my two cents.

Cloverfield (2008) & Chronicle (2012) are the two best Found Footage Films hands down.
Still one of my all time favorite films. I can't wait for the next one!

This movie is so underrated.
I just watched this movie the other day for probably the fourth time, and every time I watch it I am amazed. This is almost like watching a magician give away their tricks, but just to know how they do this blows my mind. I'm still trying to figure out how to draw stick figures, and these people are putting anatomically correct muscle structures on fictitious 300 ft monsters! And I really appreciate being able to see the monster and it's full glory. It's disappointing when the movie doesn't show the monster enough, for me, especially when creators have gone through such great lengths to create an awesome specimen.
