  • What is your view of Jesus? John the Baptist was very aware of who Jesus is: "the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world" (John 1:29). We learn that our faith should not be dictated by the world's opinion of God because the majority of people have not received Him-but those who do have the right to become His children.
This teaching is from our series 43 John - 2016 with Skip Heitzig from Calvary Albuquerque.

Yes I have a seminary degree and hear a lot of truth in what he is saying. I'm a transplanted Illinoisian who moved to California for a job in 2011. I plan to visit this church on my way out of Egypt here when I move.

Thank you very much for sharing the teaching on John the baptist. I newly learned the context of his mission; the link with the old testament and some of the expectations of the then religious leaders.

And yet John the Baptism had his doubts from prison whether Jesus was indeed the promised Messiah.
Even Jesus own family thought He lost his mind and was going crazy.

Actually there is another verse which is only two words found in 1 Thessalonians 5:16 by the apostle Paul, “rejoice always,” Though it has a comma at the end it is still and along with that verse in John 11 the 2 shortest verses in the Bible as far as I have found

25:09 I'm not sure Elijah would need to be resurrected because he was "raptured" or taken up to heaven in 2 Kings 2. Still love Skip's teaching, just think resurrected may not be the best term but I could be wrong of course! :)

Wouldn't Mary and Elizabeth have told John the B that Jesus was sent to save His people from their sins??
They knew right? Would they have kept it a secret?

That is certainly an interesting question. Personally I think John the Baptist was told at least some of the key characteristics of his cousin such as the virgin birth and maybe some stories from uncle Joseph. Thank you for being a subscriber!

THIS is boring as hell. One of the reasons I gave up going to a 'church' His schtick is evident in his darkened bluejean presentation. Then he talks about the old testament and says 'remember' like you were suppose to be there. This isn't what people are seeking. I can't watch this whole thing.

Another great example of why people cant recieve the message because they're too busy judging it and finding fault with the teacher. When people are too critical their hearts are too hard to recieve the good seed of the Word of God. We should judge/examine wrong teaching. This is certainly not one of them.

You bored because you have been living to wild and expensive Gods word to be like a stop club or something sinful, why do you thing the devil goes over board? He has to to try to out sell just the amazing word of God. Repent while you can and beg for god’s blessings on you, lest he shall taste the fires of hell. 🙏🏼
