I am A Thessalonikan jew ✡️ ❤🇬🇷
And I still live in Thessaloniki it's really nice to hear those songs in Ladino cause my Mom used to sing lullabies in Ladino both my parents know Ladino as their first language but they chose not to taught me this language is dying unfortunately
Well nothing is stoping you from learning it now.
I'm also from Thessaloniki. Although I'm nor Jewish i admire the Jewish culture.
@@AshleyGravesreal We must respect every opinion which isn't deliberately offensive towards us. Χαίρε and Shalom.
@@CaptainHarlock-kv4ztidk how you could think the Jews are a pillar of western civilization 😭 delusion at its finest
You will always be welcomed and cheerished in Sefarad, our common land.
I am a person with Sephardic blood, and we Sephardics are still alive
Go Sephardics!
Hello from Costa Rica, how beatiful is the Ladino language and how beautiful is this song!
With current war conflicts between Israel and Palestine, and someone asked me which side I'm on, I would say that I'm on the side of listening to this piece to calm my soul longing for world peace instead of wars. May God bring peace upon us all. Music brings people together. If only our world would adhere to God's commandment of love instead of conflicts. ❤
Well one side is the Christ killers the other are not !
ISRAEL FOREVER.
@@antoniodepombo3600 I agree if you had added a few words like Israel is forever stealing land and bombing food aid trucks
@@antoniodepombo3600 Put Israel in your country not in the palestinian land
@@mikelandy2078 The phrase “Christ killers” has a long history of being used as an antisemitic slur. It falsely blames Jews collectively for the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Labeling one side as “Christ killers” implies that all Jews bear responsibility for the crucifixion and it oversimplifies a complex historical narrative and perpetuates negative stereotypes. This is a harmful generalization. Associating an entire group with a specific event from thousands of years ago is both unfair and dangerous. It is essential to recognize that the Israel-Palestine conflict is multifaceted and deeply rooted in historical, political, and cultural complexities. Reducing it to simplistic labels does a disservice to the countless individuals affected by this ongoing struggle. Instead of perpetuating harmful stereotypes, let’s choose compassion and understanding, because frankly, ignorance wrapped in prejudice has no place here.
Muy bonito. Un saludo de España Sefarad.
One of the most precious songs of my sephardi greek heritage.
What an excellent arrangement! One of the best I've heard, and as the son a Ladino speaking mother, I've heard many.
Arleen Ramirez listen to her version
Definitely the highest quality arrangement I've heard.
Even though I am Ashkenazi I know this music my wife is sephardic and her grandparents came from Kastoria Greece and spoke Ladino.
@@JosemariaIsabelmaria Thank you for this!
Beautiful culture, greetings from Turkey❤
I would have thought Spain?
Nah bro, as an Ashkenazi, this is better than the best Ashkenazi stuff.
No. As a Mizrahi I can hear Ashkenazi klezmer nigguns all day long.
I’m Ashkenazi, I like Ashkenazi folk music and songs from Eastern Europe, but Sephardic music was influenced by a different culture, so comparing them doesn’t really work well.
@@Judean_Zionist Well, you can likes one more than the other.
yeah sephartics body us
Thank you. Gracias

true a beautiful voice
What a splendid consortium of musicians and vocalists! So spirited and exciting to listen to!
Grazie per publicar este brano per El Eterno
Que hermosísima canción saludos desde México 🇲🇽
I ve listened to this song several times and I'm still astonished ❤️
At first i didnt really like the soprano, but after a few watching she became my favourite. Her voice is not so big, but its very expressive and rich. And she has a special charm when she sings smilingly. Nell Snaida is a really beautiful woman.
As are you.
It appears to me that she may be pregnant, which would explain why her voice is not so strong.

Lovely music to Lift the Spirit and Bring Peace. We are always to Go with God.

This es the most extended and complete version of de lyrics of the song, as it is generally written by the Sephardim today.
Avraham avinu, padre querido,
Padre bendicho, luz de Israel.
Luego a las cumadres encombedaba,
Que toda mujer que preqada quedara,
Si no pariera al punto la matara,
Que habia de nacer Abraham avinu.
Avraham avinu, padre querido,
Avraham avinu, padre querido,
Padre bendicho, luz de Israel.
En fin de nueve mezes parir queria.
Iva caminando por campos y vinyas.
A su marido tal ne le descubria.
Topo una meara, alli lo pariria.
Avraham avinu, ...
Avraham avinu, ...
En akeya ora el nasido avlava:
Andadvos mi madre, de la meara.
Yo ya topo kyen m'aletchara,
Malah del scyelo me akompanyara,
Porke so kriyado del Dyo bendicho.
Avram avinu, ...
1:48 this part is not in the lyrics you pasted I think.

I'm Spanish. I understand perfectly what the two men sing, but I can not understand anyting what the woman sing. I thing she pronounces very badly. I'm sorry.
Mil gracias
@@joserumbado317 I'm portuguese and the same happens too me.
there are some errors in the lyrics. It is not giuderia, it is juderia. It is not preqada, it is prenhada. It is not Cuando, it is Kuando, it is not cumadres, it is komadres, it is not tenes, it is teneis. Many places we use K instead of C.
I had to stop and get my headphones so I could listen properly. Great performance!
Soy española y se entiende perfectamente. Acerquense al legado musical y cultural español....

Alas, no translation. Never mind, I can still enjoy this wonderful music.
Miss Sarah Ashplant the chorus is Abraham our father dear father blessed father light of Israel
when king nimrod went out to the camps, he looked at the sky and stars, and saw a holy light coming from judea, that is when father Abraham was born.
that's the first part lol

Man, I love this song
Fantastic 🍀
Sencillamente maravilloso
Un seul mot : magnifique !
Sparkling 👏👏🥰
Bien expulsados. Las cosas suelen hacerse por algún motivo

PERFEITO!
Preciosa música, me encanta!
Vivacious and inspiring!
Brilliant! Love it! What a great story and such a rousing tune ❤
I wish I could sing along to this. It is just the most fantastic song I've ever heard. It makes me want to be Jewish so that I could say that it is part of my culture.
Its a song about the life of Abraham of the bible: The recurring refrain is "Abraham our Father, Beloved Father, Blessed Father, The Light of Israel"
Miss Sarah Ashplant Specifically this song represents Sephardic Jews. Who can trace their heritage back places like Spain, Portugal, Morocco and Algeria.
You probably are Jewish/Israeli just don't know it, and that's why your drawn or may feel connected to the music! Embrace it!! Shalom!!!
Well I am jewish, but it is not part of my culture. My ancestors came from Ukraine and Belarus. This is the kind of song my ancestors sung. czcams.com/video/UHJkTNfF2Jg/video.html Sephardic music has a more epic feeling, Ashkenazi music is more folksy.
