The notes aren't difficult, the phrasing is what makes it so impressive

What I love about the solo in wickerman is that it's not necessary the most complicated (except for the middle part) but it's so lyrical and fits the song so well

The second number says what length of note is being counted (4=quarter note, 8=eighth note, 16= sixteenth note, etc.) And the first number says how many of that type of note are in each measure. So 2½/4 means there is 2 quarter notes and 1 eight note (half of a quarter note). We would probably count this as 5/8, but composers sometimes write time signatures a certain way to show which beat should be emphasized.

I'm a solos lover so I was ok with it. But don't get me wrong, I would have been fine with him breaking the flow of the solos just to include that breakdown.
The solo from Tornado of Souls is so wonderful that everytime I hear it is like the first time. Such a great example of perfect balance between feeling and shred.
The vibratos though disappeared and it was a bit rushed towards the end.
Yup. I agree. By far the most melodic and heartfelt of them all. Its not all about prancing ana dancin all over the fretboard. Very iconic and memorable.

The RTL solo is so underappreciated compared to other Metallica solos. It's easily my fav by Metallica

Well, yeah. It kicks ass. Not as iconic as Anesthesia (pulling teeth) or bass solo in Orion tho (just my opinion)
Imo RtL has the best Metallica solo ever. Close contenders are [pretty much any Black Album solo], every Orion solo, and then there are some solos that i love but know they can't be called the best, that would be Outlaw Torn, Suicide and Redemption, and i enjoy the uniqueness of Ain't My Bitch and Cyanide
Even tho RTL solo is amazing, a even more underappreciated solo is the one from Disposable Heroes.Just my opinion tho.

This video is a great documentary about the health benefits of metal; at first we see you losing your hair a few times due to the massive stress of shredding but as you became more proficient, the power of metal gave you hair again. l´ve always suspected this relationship since most metalheads have great hair and this is the proof we´ve been waiting for.
