- In this video, you'll see throughout the entire video that I need an assistant! lol. The wind was blowing way too hard and I wasn't paying attention to the signs...only for it to bite me in the butt!
Throughout the video, I chat about using lines to lead to your subject. There are lines everyone and they can help lead the viewers to you subject when using the lines correctly.

I had my light stand fall down a couple times, breaking the LCD on my flash both times, but the flashes still worked. Then I got a C-stand and brought it with me. It didn’t fall after that, but I also bought fenders for my flashes so if they fell backwards they would hit the rubber fenders instead.
OMG...I freaked out when the stand fell over!

0:03 they need that adapter like they have for the AD200 where you can detach the body of the strobe and bring it lower on the stand.

I felt that drop! Done that with my AD600 twice now and the battery took the hit both times. Plenty of gaffer tape on that thing now but it's still working.

Just a thought or question. How do you decide what time to release your videos? I'm no expert but it seems like releasing it at 10:00pm Pacific time might end up giving it less views. But maybe you have already experimented and found out it is the best time.
This was happening to me last Sunday but I had a regular stand. I was just about to buy a C stand lol

New to learning about off camera flash. What is the grid that is on the front of your softbox? What effect does it have with and without it?

C stands should only be used in a studio environment. They tip over way too easy. You need a heavy stand with wide legs like a beefy baby stand.

There are much better options. Look at casters. They attach to each leg of C-stand and can be broken down in place.
How is her whole body in focus at F1.2? Wouldn't part of her be blurred being further back than the front part of her body?

Download a Depth of Field Calculator app on your phone and check out how to figure out what is the focus area with each focal length, aperture, and distance. It’s eye opening!
@J.Allen_Photography I will do that, thank you! I use a lense that is 2.8 but I have a few 1.8 I shy away from because I'm afraid my whole subject won't be in focus
@@Ten16Media for example. I opened my app and added this data. Full Frame Camera / 85mm lens / 1.2 Aperture / 20ft distance…
And it gives me the Depth of Field is 1ft 2.4 inches. With my near distance in focus at 19ft 5 inches away and the far depth is 20ft 7.4 inches away.
So if I’m shooting my model with those specs, I’ll have her whole body in focus while everything is blurred out.

Please what's your lights power
I appreciate the question…but giving the light power really doesn’t provide any useful information. There are so many variables to consider…power of light, diffusion, size of the modifier, ambient light, distance from subject. I can tell the power, but if you’re not shooting with all the same variables, the results will vary.

Nice video as usual. However, you are always flirting with breaking your equipment as you almost never weigh down your light stand. There was even one time where the wind turned your modifier while you were shooting. That would have been my clue to weigh it down. I just figured you were rich and have plenty of money for new equipment 😂
Haha. I definitely wasn’t picking up on the signs for sure! I have an extension head, just forgot to bring it.
