I don’t think they’re fake but rather enhanced sounds. Most of what CU does could not be heard with the naked ear so the audio is adjusted, something that is normal in the ASMR community. Even ASMRZeitgeist audio editing/manipulation to get the sound he wants.
As for wasting product, I know you realize videos are edited and you don’t see every single thing CU does. Unless you’re paying for the makeup used, it’s not really your business what they do with it.
