FENDT 942 "Black Beauty" by 1/32 farming models, the model WIKING should have made.
Black limited edition tractors have become very popular especially since Fendt introduced their 900 series Black beauty some time ago now. This trend has crossed over to include brands including Claas, John Deere and Massey to name a few and also widening the sought after range of colours beyond that of the brand's main colour scheme.
With the introduction of the Fendt 1050 which brought with it aggressive new styling, followed by the equally aggressive looking 942, it wasn't long before both tractors were scaled down to 1/32 and collectors bought them up in their droves. While we have seen many variants of Fendt 1050 models, as far as I know there are only 2 versions of the 900 series flagship with no sign of the iconic black beauty making its way to scale model, a bizarre decision in my opinion.
Step forward the super talented Peter Hardy who runs a business called 1/32 Farming Models. Peter is a professional painter by trade and exactly the background you would wish for someone to take on these detailed conversions. I originally saw this model on the 1/32 Farming Models facebook page and made contact with Peter immediately. Monies were exchanged and the model was shipped to me here in Ireland with excellent communicated throughout the sale. Opening the standard edition packaging I was immediately blown away by the glass like gloss black finish on the model. Adding to the spec, the wheel rims and wheel weights are also impeccably finished to match. While the original tractor has all the functional features you would expect from a Wiking, the black on black paint brings it to another level.
It won't be long before I am back knocking on Peters door for something as unique as this piece before me. Who would want a standard tractor now ?

Have the black 939 by wiking , not fussed on it as wheels are too narrow and no front PTO for some reason , this is much nicer , I saw a fendt Mt 1100 or something tracked one he has painted up black on his Facebook page looks amazing 👀👀👀👀👀👀

Yep, the wheels are narrow, for me the 930 was a must have model at the time as there wasn’t anything like it. That 942 blows it out of the water, even if Wiking made the entire 942 series with 1050 cabs

@@jackfrench7240 i have the wiking one and the wheels r too narrow and no front PTO looks silly , also have a fair few of peters conversions including a black 724 and honestly looks like it was done in the factory paint and decals are perfect
