- Maria Pettersson is originally from Sweden but has lived all over the places. She moved to Cyprus in 2005 and since then has lived in Spain, Italy, England, Norway and in her forever packing, unpacking suitcase - always on the go.
At age 24 she decided that she wanted to do a profession where she could keep traveling and explore the world - that’s when she decided to become a pilot.
Her first commercial flight was in 2014 in a Boeing 737 that takes almost 200 passengers. One year later she started to share her experience as an airline pilot, flying around Europe with the world through her social channels @pilotmaria.
In this talk, Maria shares how she achieved her dream to be an airline pilot in a world where 96% of pilots are men and her encouragement to not be afraid to spread your wings. *Hi 👋 Maria, I’m a private pilot who just found your Instagram and youtube channel!! I become a pilot for the same reasons, the wonder and awe of it! And now, so far, the journey has been amazing!!*
What a wonderful share. THANK YOU!
You were brilliant! I follow you on Instagram since a long time now and you're such an inspiration for me! I've always been thinking that womens are the strongest gender. And so I was few years ago, going to work in another country leaving all friends and family behind just for my dream job and place.
Good luck for everything Maria!
I was always passionate about aviation and traveling but never knew that woman could be pilots (why did I think that? Idn) until a few months ago someone posted on their insta story one of your pictures and as soon as I clicked on your page my mind was blown away!! Since that day it’s like a whole new world of possibilities became possible and I’m thankful to you for being such a big inspiration. Unfortunately fly schools are really expensive so I can’t afford it quit yet but I’m working my way into it.
Maria, you have inspired me for the past two years and still are. I started as a kid who loves aviation, but never thought it would happen. But now 2 years later I am in flight school flying a Cessna 152, and hope the fly a Boeing 737-900 for Alaska airlines. Thank you pilot Maria.
now,did you get the job?
Follow your dreams ever Maria!
Maria, I had not seen your presentation before. I’m very proud of you and all your accomplishments. Hope to see you next time you head to the west coast for a visit. Happy Holidays......Captain Bob Millmann
Journey beautifully explained Maria :))

You are an amazing Pilot 👩✈️ and amazing women as I see at your all social media accounts and so proud as a women how you confirm definetely there is no limit for a female gender! Respect!
I‘m sure you‘re getting an amazing mother for your beloved Baby too.
My best wishes all to you and your lovely family. Take care beautiful Pilot Maria. MANY Greetings from Germany. 🙋♀️🌹❤️
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾😊
❤️❤️
I am so lucky to be born in India. We have the highest percentage of female pilots compared to the world. 12% compared to the world's 6%.
became Inspire from you Maria Mam hope i will be future pilot
I got feeling like I’ve heard this before 🤔
Astanov Bairam I got feeling you can’t write sentence
Gender is never a limit
I don't think she considers that maybe more men pursue flying careers. It's not all it's cracked up to be. I think all of us were infected with SJS (Shiny Jet Syndrome) as student pilots, but reality sets in, and the fever breaks. I left aviation and went into healthcare. Far more female docs than male docs these days probably because more of them are going into the profession. I've had numerous female flight instructors and female co-worker pilots over the years. I think her numbers are WAY off. Must be a LOT more female pilots in the industry than she says. I sure see a lot of female pilots when I have to fly somewhere.
So you've never felt discriminated and always receive compliments and supportive messages, awesome! But what was the whole point of this video? If you are a man or a woman and want to do something, do it. Just as you did. Nobody cares what your gender is. Except maybe the host for this program?
If you’ve never spoken in public you can’t understand what the point is.
You can’t hide pay up
It’s funny how I’m the gold digger when she committed wire and bank fraud stealing my identity I have the proof
Pos pay up
You stole from me and now you threw me away you stole from my banck
Well your criminal friends tried to open accounts in my name again you lose and pay me my 4 grand
Bank and wire fraud she is lying
Did you actually speak to her? Or was it only texting through apps like telegram?
@@JamesZ1025 I got all the proof the police report I did on her and the Florida DA is investigating her don’t believe in what you see she’s just a snake who will steal from you
I have to disagree Maria “Hard Work Always Pays Off” - largely a facade. Take pilot Luana. Bust her rear to be a pilot. Didn’t pay off. Lots of other examples where hard work does not payoff. Hillary Clinton campaign to be prez ? Didn’t. Pay off. On a secondary note, very surprised to see any girl who doesn’t think she cant make it in any industry - especially post 2000. I am baffled every time I hear that. Especially in Sweden. Feels like I’m living in the 1900s. Or in an alt universe.
