Sure am glad my family has a cattle station (about 500,000 acres), its basically unlimited storage for all the old cars we rescue.
Even if i don't have plans to fix up or restore a car i will still pick it up if cheap or free, clean it up, stop any rust from spreading and get it out of the sun and rain.
Some of the cars we put away and protected 15 years ago that were only worth a few hundred and people said were a waste of our shed space are now having people offer tons for, like the Datsun 280z that everyone's become obsessed with all the sudden, apparently the Japanese are buying them all to import back to Japan, especially the ones here in Australia since we are also right hand drive and fairly rust free.
Most recent additions are two bmw 528i e28 that i got as a $500 package, they look freakin tiny when parked next to other cars, i always thought they were bigger for some reason.
We are currently building new sheds dedicated to car storage.

But i have two issues restoring this car. I have financial issues. But also if i make effort to buy , the n i face challenge, we dont have exterier & interier in pakistan. Thank you for doing what you do. Back in the summer I got a deferred maintenance W124 with 175k miles for $4,000 and so far spent $3,000 at shops and countless hours of my own working on it. I can't handle as big of projects as you but glad I am able to do my part in keeping the best cars in the world on the road.

Nobody has the passion to save these old Mercedes Benzs like Vito. You can't fake that kind of love. I can relate because I often walk through junkyards and ask why people are throwing these cars away? There are so many perfectly good finds that could have been saved if people in this country didn't subscribe to a throw-away philosophy. I grew up with these cars on the road and that was over 30 years ago. Each year fewer and fewer remain. In five years, you won't be able to walk through junkyards like this and see them anymore. Period.

The 300D is my favorite Mercedes, also. Those old diesels are indeed legendary. They run forever and you can't kill them. Thanks for this video.

I feel you brother I currently have a total of 4 rescues right now, a 1995 c280 two 1997 e320's and the most recent 2002 e320. I wish I had the money and space for at least 5 more

I'd love to save these W123, W140 and E30 you showed, but shipping them to Germany isn't feasible. That old blue Caddy is also really nice. Get it redtored snd drive here in Europe would be an eyecatcher.

Good 'ol Pick-n-Pull , even though it kinda breaks your heart seeing that owners discarded true Benzes like that at least someone will be able to keep his baby running.with the parts, circle of life I guess.
People are barely grabbing any parts off of these cars. I just went there today and that 190e was gone... nobody has grabbed anything. That’s why it’s better if people decide to part out cars themselves instead of throwing them away. When you part it out yourself and properly, you save all those parts. In the junkyard, only a few parts get saved.. So sad

bro this basically feels like watching a funeral video it’s so sad to see all of these cars with such a low mileage too. this would be a dream to some people here in europe i don’t understand why no one was interested in buying one of them before they landed there. are you able to buy one from the junkyard or just parts, just out of curiosity how much that would cost
You can buy cars from some junkyards, not all of them though. Those cars would usually be sold for about $1500 no bargain
damn, all the cars are in good shape. I'm from Finland. you can't find rust-free front fenders for these anywhere in Finland. i have rust on the bottom and sides. much worse ones here in Finland are repaired and the bottom is welded. if you could find a body in the same good condition as the w124 in your video

I was wondering if they had parts for that car that they left you with new parts, apparently the person is not interested in having it fixed, you could fix it then sell it or put it with your other cars.
It would be something, if you were able to purchase some of these classic cars to put them back on the road and the one(s that are past beyond repair, have them as parts cars

I absolutely LOVE old cars. I have a 1988 BMW 750iL that I am restoring and will likely hold onto until I die. Our wasteful, consumeristic, planned obsolescence car culture will only lead to more and more salvage yard tragedies like these. In California, it's going to get a LOT worse. California plans to outlaw the sale of internal combusion engine cars by 2035. Fourteen years can pass before you know it.
Just my personal preference, but I won't touch a BMW that offered an i-Drive controller for a whole laundry list of reasons. Stylistically (I don't find late model vehicles attractive), the poor level of workmanship, and the level of technical complexity make it harder and harder for DIY hobbyists like myself to work on late model cars.
I think if more people appreciated older cars enough to work on them, restore them, drive them and maintain them, we might see fewer and fewer scrapyard tragedies like this. I don't want to know what the long term effects of all of these cars are going to have on our environment.
Non-car enthusiasts see automotive junk and clutter. I see old-car automotive dreams waiting for someone to bring them back to life.

@@VITOSGARAGE just an FYI there are a few CZcamsrs who have successfully restored a wide variety of older cars. Restore It has restored some E30s and is currently restoring an early 80s Mercedes diesel. Ronald Finger restored a 1985 Fiero that had been sitting in a field for twenty years and completed a three year restoration on it. LegitStreetcars restored a 1999 Jeep Limited 5.9 Grand Cherokee that he bought nonrunning for $700 and now runs and drives. M539 has restored a number of E38s E39s an E60 M5 a couple of E31 coupes as well as an E21 3 series. He also has a couple of E32s in the works including an E32 Highline. These are just a few of my favorites.
BUY the 190e headlight door surrounds...they are not being made any longer!

I’ll keep looking for your parts. But they should be selling new floor pans online. Do some research. Try eBay or google. Because millsupply.com sells floor pans for Classic Mercedes

This was two years ago. How about now? I no longer see people junk any used cars. We have tons of new immigrates coming to the town need a car. Anything can be sold for a few thousand dollars.
