You're right about poodles. And they are as smart as a human. My father in law was a breeder and I have had 2 of his dogs. The emotional issues can be helped. One of my children had this separation anxiety very young, making it impossible for me to go anywhere. I had to train her not to be afraid of my disappearing. It's a gradual process, but similar to training an animal because she was too young to have language yet. Basically, you step out of their field of vision for a few seconds at a time, lengthening the time gradually, giving praise when they do not react. It works. You have to be patient and not react when they are upset. Pick them up, yes, hold them but don't over-comfort them. They gradually learn that they can trust you to always come back. And they lose their anxiety. ❤

Soooooo sad to see such a beautiful Poodle that evidentially has been mistreated if not also neglect to be come so scared that the new owner will leave him. Shame on the previous owner for neglecting such a beautiful boy Leo. I knew of dogs with similar issues and they have overcome such problems. Leo is not the problem, it actually those that where suppose to give him love and care. This vet is a total miracle as he completely understand this situation and willing to work with the new owner to get a desirable result that would greatly benefit Leo. We rescued a 12 month old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel that was just like this pup. She had 4 previous owners and also had 2 puppies still born. We lost her to heart failure last Christmas aged 10. She was the most clingy but loving dog ever. This vet is so spot on and sensitive to all the animals he cares for and treats, Wish he was our vet 😇

Myself I had a poodle for 13 years and I can't describe how lovable he was.Unfortunetly he died and left me so so heartbroken. But what I really want to say here I never saw a veterinarian like you doctor so much love passion you have for your patients. И сейчас, когда я уже почти год как не работаю, постоянно дома с ним, он без меня может максимум часов пять побыть. сидит у сына в комнате, ждет, затем начинает ходить по всей квартире и тихонько скулить. О том, чтобы поехать куда нибудь отдохнуть и речи быть не может. Стрижка, все эти 12 лет, и для него и для меня это огромный стресс.

У меня тоже пудель, 12 лет. Когда мы его взяли, ему было почти 4 месяца и он сразу выбрал меня. Ни с мужем, ни с сыном он даже нормально не гулял на улице, только со мной бегал и веселился. И сейчас, когда я уже почти год как не работаю, постоянно дома с ним, он без меня может максимум часов пять побыть. сидит у сына в комнате, ждет, затем начинает ходить по всей квартире и тихонько скулить. О том, чтобы поехать куда нибудь отдохнуть и речи быть не может. Стрижка, все эти 12 лет, и для него и для меня это огромный стресс.
