I heard that Vivz even confirmed that Charlie was fathered by Lucifer, because of the abortion curse. I can only assume that this led to some tension between Lucifer and Lilith and I wonder if that was part of why they broke up. I too am HELLUVA SUS from Lilith. Even before the end of this episode.

29:49 Lucifer didn't have sex with both lilith and eve. He convinced/deceived eve into eating the fruit of knowledge, and had sex with lilith. So you know, they both liked what he had to offer, but it is a different thing each time.
There is a theory that Alastor's soul belongs to Roo (This is a character that Viv introduced as an approaching threat a few years ago. According to one theory, Roo is Eve possessed by evil after death). Alastor is a voodoo sorcerer (veves sometimes fly around him). Roo pretended to be loa spirits for Alastor when he was alive, since it is easier for a black man from Louisiana to serve the pantheon of spirits of his environment than an unknown creature, and offered him a deal that he would kill people and give their souls to her in return for the power she would give him. So Alastor became a serial killer and a cannibal. After his death, he got the power that Roo promised him and overthrew the old Overlords, apparently taking their souls and handing them over to his master. Since she owns his soul, she can twist him as she wants and sent him to the Hazbin Hotel for an unknown reason.
P.S. To the question that Alastor can take souls. Alastor did not use angelic weapons against Adam. He definitely had a plan to neutralize him: "I am about to end your freaking life!", and not just tease Adam and run away. Alastor wanted his soul to gain Adam's power and broadcast his screams to all Hell on the radio. Like he did with the old Overlords. In that case, Alastor would have get the power of an archangel and would have shown all Hell that he was the true king of the Pride Ring.
Ryan please don't edit or remake your episode one reaction, I understand completely where your coming from but please. I come to your videos for your reaction whether I agree with it or not at least it's real and uncensored. I understand if you do it this is just a request hoping you don't. My guess on why Lucifer didn't show up sooner is that he's probably bound by some kind of contract when it comes to the Exterminations. He'd agreed to let them happen on the grounds that Hellborn demons be spared, so he likely _couldn't_ interfere at first. Once Adam killed Dazzle (or Razzle, I cam't remember which one it was) and tried to kill charlie, he broke Heaven's side of the contract, which freed Lucifer from his side and made it so he could step in.
I always thought Lucifer's jab about how Adam's second wife "didn't hate what I had to offer" was talking about the Apple.

I have a theory as to why Lucifer didn't stop the exterminations. I think he had a deal with the Exorcists to allow then to kill demons as long as they didn't hurt his family. As soon as the Exorcists attacked Charlie the deal was voided.

It seems to be implied that Sir Pentious earned redemption through the ultimate sacrifice, maybe God broke his own rules for that. And you can't convince me that his death being funny wasn't intentional. The characters took it seriously, but the framing was definitely deliberate comedy.
I don't think Charlie came across as weak, she was able to actually wound Adam after Alastor could barely touch him. I think it makes sense because she's not really a fighter. Lucifer stepping in late is mostly likely because he had a deal with heaven that he'd allow the exterminations as long as they didn't go after hellborns, so when Charlie and her dragon were injured the contract was off. I think daddy coming to save her is a setup for her arc next season. And yeah, the bad one-liners are definitely in character as the cringy dad.
Heyo, Ryan! First things: Pentious went to Heaven because he was "redeemed." The bomb SHELLS were probably angelic, or something, idk I'm not Vivziepop. Holy moly, the hearts were so much more prominent than I thought they were, and I already thought they were everywhere. And yes, Pentious's death is meant to be funny.
I like this episode a lot. At first I felt iffy about it but it grew on me. And oh BOY I am excited for the Vees, I love them, Vox especially. Since I know you just love musicals, I'll say I really hope they get a song all from their perspective. I also think this show really is flawed, but I love it for what it is.

43:18 I'm not going to lie, I did laugh the first time that I saw Sir Pentious's death when the episode first aired, but it was mainly due to Adam's comment right after where he says smugly "Oh! Well that could have ended ugly", but I do believe it's one of those unintentionally hilarious moments that was created due to the set up and it being flipped right away

It's not that Adam got beat, it's not that the angels retreated, it's that Charlie got loathsome Sinners to stand up and risk it all, be better people, sacrifice themselves for her dream that got Lucifer to believe in her. Luci beat up Adam but she got him to see that people can change.
Also Lucifer approved the extermination of Sinners, so long as Hellborn were left alive. Adam declared he'd not just beat up Charlie but kill her. And then Lucifer punch.

Zestial says that everyone believed that Alastor died by angels. Rumors don't come out of nowhere. Probably the battle of Alastor and Vox took place during the first extermination (with a high probability, the first extermination began seven years ago with the disappearance of Lilith. Adam and Lilith made some kind of deal. Most likely, the deal is that Lilith will go to Heaven if Adam is allowed to kill demons every year). Both were attacked by angels, Vox's soul was almost devoured by Alastor and the attack of the angels gave him time to escape. Alastor was surrounded and almost killed by angels (Alastor had stitches all over his body when he turned into a full demonic form in Stayed Gone), but his master (Roo or Loa gods) saved him and restored him all these years. Alastor was either on other rings illegally, either on Earth or in another dimension, he wasn't on the Pride Ring, Vox would have noticed him through the cameras.
While I love that theory, there's a hole concerning Lilith and Adam's deal: the exterminations have been a thing much long before Alastor even showed up in hell, as Lucifer said while singing "... in the first 6 thousand years". Besides, Lilith's encouragement of Hell was the main reason why Heaven allowed the exterminations to happen and she's been only absent for 7 years.
According to the lore, if Lilith didn't return to Eden and submit to God's will (and, possibly, Adam's), all her children would die, which makes me think Lilith's motive for her deal with Adam has something to do with Charlie!

As you know, all current Overlords except Zestial are a new generation that came after Alastor's carnage of old Overlords. Carmilla is the main dealer of angelic weapons. If angelic weapons have existed in Hell for a long time, then why is Carmilla the first angelic weapon dealer to come after Alastor? Previously, the demons wondered where the old Overlords, overthrown by Alastor, disappeared after broadcasting their screams on the radio. Alastor probably took their souls, not killed them, but in the eyes of the public they died. If angelic weapons had existed long ago in Hell, then they would have explained the disappearance of the Overlords by saying that Alastor simply killed them with angelic weapons and his mystical image disappeared, but no, they really did not know their fate. Alastor was the only demon in the public eye capable of killing other demons until the first extermination took place and the angelic weapon appeared in Hell.

Besides, one thing is to keep and use them, another thing is to forge/mold them or gain profit from them. Carmilla was the only who apparently knew how to craft weapons due to her being a weapons dealer in life. Mind you, that consistency or good writing isn't the show's greatest strength considering even someone as shortsighted and dimwit as Adam thougth it would be a good idea to kill Charlie let alone Sera not putting her foot down when he made that threat in front of the entire Angel Court!!!!

gonna try to give the best explanations I can:
-why could the bombs kill the angels?

*don't think so, probably talking about how Lilith loved him more and how Eve accepted the fruit of knowledge from him
-what happens with 2nd death an Pentious getting to heaven?
*if a sinner is hurt they'll slowly and painfully regenerate, if they're damaged beyond the point of regeneration being able to repair them they'll respawn somewhere else in hell like they did when they first arrived. if a soul is harmed by an angelic weapon it won't heal, death by angelic weaponry makes them stop existing as themselves and become one of those weird eyes watching in the background.
*while we don't know the exact reason our best guess for Pentious getting to heaven is because he got obliterated and had to respawn however he proved himself as redeemed in his last moments by fighting for his friends and risking his immortal soul for them which caused him to respawn in heaven instead.
For what little my opinion means I just wanna say Thank you Hobo Ryan, I've watched a lot of Hazbin series reactions but yours is by far my favorite. So many other reactions edit, skip around or talk over and miss parts and it kinda disrupts the flow of the reactions but you pause and insert your opinions, commentary and humorous side gags (35:32 had me rolling, sides in orbit!) and pick right back up where you left off and it leads to a much more cohesive fulfilling watch, not to mention you going above and beyond with editor Ryan adding in notes and commentary on details you missed in the moment but noticed on second watch. I'm sorry some commenters got you feeling down about your reactions especially episode 1 but personally I found your takes unique and your genuine honesty refreshing. It made your series pleasure to watch. Some people just get *SO* defensive about any criticism of things they like they get waaay too hostile over a difference of opinion but I just wanted to let you know your Hazbin series reaction certainly made *Me* laugh and smile. 😊👍

I do really love this series, does it have flaws? yes, is it perfect? NO! but I just am glad that it even got picked up and was made into an official series. It proved to me that with hard work and a dream, you can get into the big leagues and create a show that the artist wants to create. I will always respect Vivzi and her team for paving the way for a new era of entertainment, although the journey for it had it's ups and downs (mostly coming from it's Toxic Fandom) and despite what information that is questionable to some degree...I know that nothing in life is perfect, but you can never be mad at what Vivziepop had kickstarted and what she had done for the Internet as a whole. I may not agree with you Ryan on your criticisms, but I can agree that I really liked this show too.

10:42-11:00 Fun fact- there are actually two characters in the Hazbin side who've been confirmed to be straight: Niffty (as told in the countdown stream), and Katie Killjoy. Straight (heterosexual) characters are just a minority in the Hellaverse, which I find refreshing for a wide variety of representation when straight characters are usually the majority. Viv apparently being sapphic might explain it too.

41:45 Usually when a Sinner dies, their soul is said to vanish into a state of nothingness. Pentious was instead redeemed and transferred into Heaven because he died sacrificing himself to save others, the act of ultimate selflessness.

The whole angelic weaponry thing is really weird, but also really simple once you get an understanding.
This also applies to the sinners as well. The body can be physically destroyed, but if done, so I conventional means they will simply regenerate and, for the better word, respond. But if the finishing blow is struck by a weapon made of angelic steel, bomb shrapnel, bullets, or blades, then they will permanently die.
It’s like with vampires. You could hack off all of their limbs and tear out a big trunk of their torso, but they will be absolutely fine given the time to rest and heal their injuries. You drive a stake through their heart and they die instantly.
The Lor reason for this is because angelic steel doesn’t damage the body, it more so rips the soul into pieces and leaves them in an irreparable state where there internal energy is scattered across the environment and itself into the surrounding inanimate objects. This is why so many structures and furniture in hell have fully functioning eyes, this is the dark energy left behind by sinners who endured a second death.
MY THOERIES:
1. I think when Winners/Sinners dies, there soul will be judged by that moment and when they reborn they'll go to Heaven or Hell based on how the judgement upon them and since mostly in Hell they always do the killings, do whatever they want like always doing the sins over and over again, so when they reborn they still stay in Hell. So that means Chalie was right that every soul Hell can be redeem.
2. So far we only knew about the ability of Angelic Weapons/Steels that the souls can no longer revive when they got killed by this weapon. We don't know anything about Adam's Holy Light if its has the same effect as weapons, but as we saw that Sir Pentious revive, it proves that Adam's Holy Light is not the same as Angelic Weapon. In Adam case, he will not be revive either as an Angel or a Sinner because he got killed by Angelic weapon used by Nifty.

about the bombs id assume its had bits of holy metal in it however the show has a lot of plotholes like how the wooden table was able to make an angle bleed. so did the rubble falling on lute so that must have been holy also, and alastors shield made them lose blood when they faceplanted in it so he must also be holy lol

I don't know if anyone caught it but the banner for Sir Pentious' one week anniversary kind off harkens back to episode 2 when Angel Dust gave him a week tops at the hotel.
season 2 main villain is lillith or Alastair(but propably no, he like work in shadow, puppet master etc) so maybe we se mother vs husband and daughter - or maybe something more suprising(val nad this tv shit i don't think this duo or trio worth to be main villain, but probably some mess be done, angel dust still have deal with valentino, so maybe we see angel fight with valentino and he die, and go to heaven..

Lucifer didn’t show up earlier because he couldn’t. His agreement with heaven is that the angels left the hellborn alone, when Adam hurt Charlie he broke the deal and Lucifer could come into play.
I was very much in to the fight scene but yes I 100% busted out laughing when Pentious got deleted in less than a second
P.S I think they are trying to imply that he was redeemed enough to get into heaven after getting one tapped, meaning Charlie is right.

I enjoyed watching hobo ryan react to the show, it's refreshing hearing honest opinions about every line of dialog, scene, and musical number. Since most reactors pretty much just watch the show a praise its music, though i agree that there are parts where it is completely unnecessary to have a musical number because it takes away from an emotional scene or makes you take some event in the episode less seriously. Hopefully season two will be better and ryan can get some sleep without seeing hearts everywhere.

(Lute and Adam could literally be demons going up against IMP and they would fit way better)
but i ended up really liking them as villains. Adam allways talked the big game
so it was nice to see that he can actually back up his talk
Adam is literally the second strongest being in hell out side of Lucifer (even if it is a shame that the power gap between them is so massive it's just absurd and kinda ruined the fight at the end)

I'm about 80% sure Alastor's role was to weaken Adam, he wanted to kill him though, absolutely. But I think in some way he wasn't going to be able to kill him, so he opted to make him use a portion of his strength and energy first, thus weakening him a bit instead. Much like I'm 95% sure if Alastor didn't wear him down, they may not have won. I think in a weird way, Alastor is a bit of an unsung hero against Adam, even if just for distracting/weakening him as much as he was able.
