Still love PC2. The sheer amount of options in terms of cars, tracks, weather is astounding. My friends and I race every Friday night and PC2 is still part of the rotation.
I play PC2 whenever i pull out my old ps4, if they didnt delist the game, i would have bought it on PC and still continue to play it to this day. Solid game i played so much of i even got the platinum trophy for it.
Have on console and been playing on PS5 recently. Got the Deluxe Edition so all the extra DLC when the game was available for about £12. Been revisiting PC1, PC2 and AC. When I got then first after only really playing GT Sport they were too much for me. Now I've a bit more 'track time' I'm really enjoying them and it opens up so many options for racing. I especially love the classic tracks that are not likely to be more modern games.
I just got my hands on a copy of PC1 and PC2 and I am very happy I did, I think they are great sims and are a lot of fun. I'm a late comer to sim racing so still building my collection. I only got my Moza R5 2 months ago and have most of best sims even the ones going back almost twenty years. My wheel even works with GTR2, I'm enjoying my new hobby but don't get much sleep anymore. I will not be getting PC3 though from the comparison videos I have seen even the video quality is not as good as PC2 and it's gameplay is said to be more arcade racing. I'd rather play FH5 and I returned that.
I used to love this sim, Project Cars 2, on my logitech G923 after I had a ton of tweaking with custom ffb files. I wonder if I should try giving it another go, years later with a Fanatec DD1 and aluminium profile rig... have people developed better ffb files for it?
I gave it a go with the Silver Project v9.7 file on my simucube base. Feels pretty good actually. Something about this game that makes me enjoy driving it in a few diff classes. Renault 3.5 and the BMW 2002 stance works I found really enjoyable.

When I was a kid and got tired of Gran Turismo 2, I ended up using a joystick to steer and the speed slider as "acel and brake" to play Nascar Racing 2003 and Grand Prix 4, and Toca Race Driver.
It is still a great game for me to do offline racing and bring up the game from time to time. I like getting into the Superkarts and do races on various GP tracks. The physics work well for me and do the game in VR. The big downfall of PC2 from the other older games like Assetto Corsa and RFactor 2 was there are very little modding to keep the game going and exciting. I don't know how the online play went with this game, but I never got into that. I know there were bugs and issues with PC2 and people thought maybe PC3 would solve all their problems. But we found out PC3 turned into being just an Arcade type racing game. No pits, weird physics, etc. I have this game, but it is kind of is collecting dust on my hard drive. i feel PC2 is the best one of the Project Cars games, at least for me. Probably because it works well with VR.
You have a pretty small list of games to choose from...... 😉 I did the same recently with PC2. I wanted to recall all the tracks that can be put into AMS2. Found myself driving in snow everywhere with the RX lights. If this game had better FFB, I would probably play it more often. And yes, there were several races listed in the multi lobby. And no on PC3.
just noticed - you dont seem to have a green pit crew indicator, cant remember if its a setting option, just makes them more visible as you roll into the lane.
Try the stock car on daytona… feels literally very similar to Iracing, best thing to do in PCars 2 is to go audio settings and put the tyre noise slider up so you can hear them scrubbing, the wheel doesnt do that well.
I still have the Project Cars series in my Steam Library. PC2 is one I wont give up so soon just because of nostalgia and it was the best of the 3, arguably. PC3 was a disaster! The improvements were fatal to the game and the marketing went into the toilet....lol
PC2 is a good game, a solid game. For some, it can feel a little arcadey . . . maybe. But the game feels great. I was playing it several months ago and like you, only because I was bored. So I opened it up and smiled: "Ph yeah, I remember this!" It was great fun, until I decided to take the deep dive into iRacing. I purchased PC3 for $5 on a Steam summer sale or something . . . how can I say this while still being polite? Hmm. I want my $5 back. I can use it toward a future purchase of a car or track in iRacing. HA! But PC2 looked good, the cars, the track environments (which look better, in most respects than iRacing); it had rain with changing track conditions, years before iRacing. PC2 is a lot of fun.
I'm driving this Ferrari a lot lately in iRacing using the 'FXSound' software to boost the bass a bit. I was devistated by hearing the exact same car here in PC2 - really underwhelming. I used to enjoy this sim a lot, but once you get the taste of better sound, graphics and physics, why should you got back. Rest in peace.
Once I spent a ton of money on iRacing, then i was underwhelmed with the poor ffb, physics, and graphics. Oval and offroad were worth it though in iRacing.
@@labpong7562 oh yeah, i forgot im running two sharpeners and a tonemap through a reshade. Turning that off indeed is a turn off. Besides that, physics wise í'd say that realism is not for everyone and i understand if someone prefers e.g. AMS2 or PC2 for it's being more aggressive and fun to drive. The FFB part is easily explained with your hardware and settings. I run a 12nm DD and It's a bit of science to adjust every setting ingame and on the software side.
A few things. I have Fanalab open also SimHub. Set your wheel to pc compatibility by hitting the button until it’s like a yellowish green. Now in Project cars 2 settings, control scheme, set the type to wheel, set make to custom, model to custom wheel, pedal type separate. Then edit your assignments.
The Slightly Mad team announced on Twitter on August 22nd, 2022 that the first two Project CARS titles would be delisted from all platforms during the coming Fall. Project CARS 2 was delisted first on September 21st while the original Project CARS was removed from sale shortly after, on October 3rd.
I gotta stop watching you sim racing guys channels. Cost me money everytime. Had it in my cart, convinced myself I won't play it longer than 30min, and somehow got away lol. almost got me this time.
@TheGreyBeardGamer g2a has it for 53$ I have the 1st, never tried 2 or 3. Was always a forza guy until I got a real wheel setup. Now I mainly play AC, and iracing. I've been on the waiting list for Rennsport for over a month....gave up hope. I'm hoping AC evo is really good. I'm not very competitive, I'd really like a deep career. It's the 1 thing I do love about forza

The career mode has a lot of the actual series you can race like super trofeo, porche carrera cup, Indycar. The WEC is even portrayed as endurance cup with the 24 hours of Le Mans. It also has pirelli world challenge. Don’t let anybody tell you this game is trash until you try it yourself

I respect PC2, best carreer mode ever, great graphics, but in terms of physics, it not compares to a real sim.

Just a more polished version of AMS2, and with all the good content and laserscans intact 👌
I still go back to it. Has a good variety of cars and tracks. Looks great still to this day and it’s still really great in VR.

ps - PC3 was a pure cash grab I didn't buy it but after seeing it and hearing the context of its creation I didnt bother
I do.... gt3 cars are bad, but gte, group 4 , group 5, indy road, road cars, vintage cars are great and fun
