Really enjoyed the tour. Great use of space. Suggestion: To solve your planer woes take a look at the Oliver 13" with the true spiral cutting head. Strong, quiet, and with a locking head that practically eliminates snipe. Quality machine at a fair price.
Thanks, will do!
Your shop can't be that hot during the summer months. If it were, then you'd be drenched in sweat in about 15 minutes. We suffer 95-100 degrees with 95% humidity during midsummer.
You've made the most of a garage workshop. Best wishes for success in your business.
Thank you!
Thanks for the tour.
We had a very determined tripod kitty. Full of personality. Miss that guy.
Youâre welcome, thanks for watching. Youâre the first one to notice our kitty doing his thing in the background. We love him.
Great use of space
Thank you very much
Thanks for the tour. It's really helping me get a better feel of what it would take to run a similar business that I am interested in in the future.
Youâre welcome. Thanks for checking it out and good luck!
That's a well thought-out shop. I have the same Wahuda 10" jointer, it's a great unit.
Thanks a lot for watching. The more I use that jointer the more I like it I have to say.
Thank you this vide is very well done and very detailed. I have the Dashboard track , I have had it for a couple of seasons now and it is a wonderful piece of equipment. This up coming season I am going to get a SawStop job site pro and build a new MFT table . The table is going to incorporate the table saw and the track saw capability to save space . Space is the cruelest when trying to equip a shop . It sure looks like you have had to make some hard choices to best utilize the space you have available. I look at Jay Bates and Bourbon Moth and DREAM of such a space .. So thank you for showing how a lot of us have to compromise . I wish you much success in your journey . I subscribed today CZcams algorithms finally popped you up when I searched wood working ..
Thank you very much for the kind words! You hit the nail on the head. How we lay out our work space has so much to do with not only the size of our shop but the processes we run. Itâs different for everyone.
Beautiful and efficient shop. Smaller shops that make the most of the space available to them are always my favorites. Very clever trick putting your fein vac up in the rafters. I plan on doing something similar for my CNC but I'll have a dust deputy hooked up to it so it'll nearly be a set it and forget it deal; with a dust deputy I'd literally have to check the bag maybe once a year. I do like the fein a lot for CNC; compact, quiet, plenty of suction. I grabbed mine from acme not too long ago for about half price.
Thanks a lot for watching, I really appreciate it. Shops are always a work in progress right? Iâm definitely going with some sort of separator as well. I love the Fein but it does fill up fast if I use the cnc a lot (which I have been lately). And you canât tell when itâs full until itâs too late.
Love the shop, The out feed miter saw station that's the best just don't use it when the dryers going. So nice keep going. New subscriber Thanks
Thank you so much! Donât worry, no laundry is going when Iâm working. Itâs just an example of how areas have to have multiple functions when your working with limited space.
Nice shop where did you get your wheels for your table saw
Thank you. I got that mobile base from Grizzly. I thinks itâs called the bear crawl or something like that.
Have you seen the new grizzly 12âcombo unit
Yes, I seriously considered getting that. Looks like a nice machine but I ultimately decided to go with my current setup due to the price and mobility. If things change in the future I would still consider buying the grizzly combo.
Run a 6 to 8" board in front and behind your work piece. It should reduce your snip.
Yes Iâve tried that thank you. It helps but overall Iâm not thrilled about the smile on the planer. Other than that itâs a great unit.
Very cool. I just picked up a new (to me) 3hp Jet table saw. I was wondering how that Rockler collector would do with a saw that size or if the larger cfm model is necessary. You said it worked pretty well. Thanks for sharing!
Very nice. I like the dust collector. More power would be nice but I like how compact the unit it. I donât get great dust collection on my table saw no matter was DC Iâm running anyways. The little rockler works great with my jointer and planer so I have no complaints.
Hey just joined your channel. Nice looking shop you have. Regarding the snipe you are experiencing with your planer, have you tried attaching a waist board on the edge of your piece that is extends you piece out beyond the snipe point. So that the snipe is on the waist board and not you project piece.
Thanks a lot! No, I havenât tried that specifically. Itâs kinda to much trouble for my needs but I agree with you it would work. I usually just run the boards one after another butting together and that helps a lot. I could make an auxiliary sled or something that goes over the infeed/outfeed out of melamine but I guess the snipe hasnât bugged me enough to do that. I like the planer, it gives a nice smooth finish. But in hindsight I wish I just would have kept my Dewalt 735 and upgraded to a helical head. Maybe Iâll do a detailed review if anyoneâs interested.
And you do have the awesome drum sander.
Great tour! Is your mft table sitting on casters or leveling feet.
Thank you. Itâs on casters so I can move it around if need be.
What size and how many did you add to bear the weight? Thanks for sharing, appreciate your time and help,
They are 2â casters and I installed 6. They each are rated for 100lbs. Been on there for almost 2 years no issues.
I liked the quiet air compressor. Would you have a link where I can find one? Thanks
Thanks a lot. I added a link to the air compressor in the video description.
Thank you I found them at Rocker and Woodcraft Supply. My current compressor is very loud
The only thing I didnât care for on your video was all the editing. Not smooth. But nice shop đ€đ»
Working on that, I messed up a lot đ
