- Today I’m traveling onboard SJ New EuroNight Sleeper train from Stockholm Centralstation down to Hamburg Altona. Come along as we check out what service is offered onboard this new service that had a trouble full start. The train was supposed to have both couchettes sleepers and seated wagons but those are still not in service! Watch the video to find out why ;)

Hey Simon! Great that you enjoyed your trip on our train! I was your conductor that nigh and you might have caught my back in one shot 😅
Glad my passengers are enjoying the trip as much as I do. You're right, we're still in our start up phase and will continually ramp up and improve our service. Thanks for the praise and for any valid criticism. Safe travels and much fun on the rails, always. And hope to see you you soon again!
Hej Arian! Thanks for the comment, i had a great trip will certainly be back in the future 😃
🚅
Now you can offer sleeping services! Although I really think SJ should add a restaurant car (maybe an R4 or S12?) and maybe a few normal coaches Stockholm-Malmö to improve the service.
Hi Arian. - Maybe you can help me witch some Information on SJ EuorNight?!
I'm trying to book a ticket for July 2023 from Hamburg to Stockholm, but there are no connection shown after mid of March 2023. Is the Train Connection SJ EuorNight beeing available for the whole year 2023? - Is there a timetable for the SJ EuorNight for 2023? - Thanks a lot! (I can't find any of these Information on the internet)
@@videjonaHi, I’m actually taking a sleeper train from Hamburg to Malmö in June on the Snälltåget sleeper train. SJ currently has a lot of track maintenance for the coming summer that they aren’t yet sure when they’re going to do so schedules are only available iirc 2-3 months out for anything SJ transit. I’d recommend Snälltåget since we could book our private compartment well in advance regardless whatever SJ is doing this summer, they run a sleeper train from Berlin to Sweden with stops in major cities along the way, and not very expensive either, worth a look!

Took an evening train recently after an evening out in Stockholm that was a night train heading to Malmö, although I exited in Norrköping. I am not sure if it had carriages that might have gone further south. Being able to leave Stockholm at 23:17 in the evening and arrive in Norrköping before 1 ish at night, or 6 ish in the morning in Malmö is a great concept, I hope the service is good for the ones that choose to have a sleep in a proper compartment so that this service continues. Great for the ones like me that love a night out in Stockholm with friends at a bar or a restaurant.
Thank you for video
Always good to see sleepers coming back but they are being brought back way too slowly, imho. The amount of flights daily that could perfectly be replaced with night trains is insane.
Couldn't agree more
Hello, I want to travel, but I have no idea if there is a direct train from Stockholm to Hamburg, and can we go inside Europe with an ID card?without passport🙂
Thank you for this video. I want to do this later in the year and I am all too happy you can lock your room.
Very nice video👍
What is better for the train is a 15kv 16.7hz DB ÖBB SBB 15kv 16 2/3 hz SJ NSB 25kv 50hz DSB Denmark locomotive from Malmö down to Hamburg Hbf that way the locomotive change at Padborg is not used instead a driver switch occurs there.
I am actually on board this train from Hamburg to Stockholm. Booked 2 months ago, apparently the only couchette with WC.
WC is locked and not working.
The whole coach (24) has to share one WC since also one of the two common ones, is also not working.
Heating is off and cold air is blowing from ventilation unit.
General appearance of the train brings me back to my interrail trips at the 80s.
Too bad for an extremely ecoensive ticket of
almost 500€ for a family of three.
The video is nice but not the train, sorry...
Photos are available, but I cannot upload them...
I travelled in the times of the "Alfred Nobel" train on the bird flight line. The last train travelled in late summer or early autumn 1994.
And 30 years later it might return on the new Fehmarn link :-)
the carriages and locomotive look very similar to CFR ones.
If you want to close the toilet door I think you have to press the green button again. The red one would be for securing it.
I think you're right :-)
do you know if the problems are still occuring? i booked a journey in Summer..great video btw :)
Couchettes and Sleepers have now been approved :-) Should be running a lot more smooth now
@@Simon-Andersen thank you!
I remember riding one of these back in 2004 or something... Must have been a discontinued and then recontinued thing nowadays...
Yup, old parked carriges thats been put back into service temporaly
@@Simon-Andersen first time i ever was in a sleeper train too btw. Neat stuff!
Is this night train still running? I had heard that it was discontinued?
No it still very much running :-)!
I am planning to travel with 3 huge Suitcases. What about Luggage storage ?
There is no luggage service on this train, you'll have to carry it yourself and fit it in the cabin
I want to it
Hi train have wifi nor not????
There is no Wifi, so make sure to have everything downloaded beforehand
What about sitting compartment
Some couchettes are sold as seaters, but as far as i know the seating carriges still not approved in Denmark
