  • Dresden, Germany. One day in the city. Where to stay? What to see? The visiting card of the city is the Zwinger.
Dresden was the next stop after Lodz on our trip to Europe. We had exactly one evening to explore the city. The distance from Lodz to Dresden is about 500 km. On the autobahn it is approximately 4.5 hours drive.
The Zwinger was not far from our apartment and we decided to start the excursion directly from it. And then walk through the Old Town, cross to the other bank of the Elbe along the Augustus the Strong pedestrian bridge and end the walk at the Dreikönigskirche church. Part of the Zwinger ensemble is still under reconstruction. You can walk throughout the park for free.
The film uses footage from the Broadcasting and Recording Division of the Library of Congress Prelinger Archive - 1939 - Fahrende Stadt - Dresden
