Thank you for also crediting the Skaters. They were so talented and worked so hard! The Leads who were in place, lying on the ice waiting for the start.. that was a level of commitment all on it's own - even before the first stroke of the skates. The orchestra too was brilliant. This performance was my first introduction to Aida as well and I was simply blown away. her voice is stunning; full and warm and rich. Definitely one of the Greats. I believe this was the first time also that Dimash got to sing with his own idol; Lara. You can see the enormous affection on both faces. You're not the only one who teared up at the sheer beauty of this. I do it every time I watch it, and I notice Igor was in absolute 'heaven' himself! Here we also get a real taste of what the 'Operatic Tenor (Bari / Tenor?) Star' Dimash could also be - if he'd chosen to dedicate himself to this one Genre. I gather Lara was unwell and it wasn't certain just before whether she could perform. Apparently they had joked in the dressing room that if both Soprano's had had to pull out Dimash could have sung all the parts on his own. TRUE!

The lady in black is Lara Fabian (*1970), also a world-famous singer, songwriter from Belgium and a great role model for Dimash. Even as a child, Dimash wished to be on stage with Igor Krutoy and Lara Fabian one day ... and here the dream came true. This event took place on the occasion of the 65th birthday of Igor Krutoi (here pianist) in 2019. Igor Krutoy, *1954 in Ukrainian SSSR), singer and songwriter in Ukrainian, Honored Artist and music titan in Russia (billionaire). He is a world- famous composer who came out of retirement to write songs for Dimash. The maestro and Dimash have been working together from time to time since 2018. Let me give you some info on this incredible trio and event: • Igor is there as an overall lead because the event is built for him: this is his birthday event that he organized with all his favorite artists, the ones that he is used to collaborate with and the songs he has composed • This is not the first time that Lara sings this song (composed by Igor) in trio but the third time: she performed in the original version with Dmitri Hvorostovsky and Alina Yaroyava then again later with Dmitriy and Sumi Jo, before this new trio with Dimash and Aida. The song was composed from day one with her voice in mind. She has been collaborating with Igor for more than 10 years and he has told from her that she is “the best singer and the best songwriter he has ever worked with” • This also explains why the song does not exposes more of Dimash’s upper register: it was written for the late Dmitri who was a pure baryton. • Lara was very very sick that day, with fever and strong medication but she is skilled enough to have made it unnoticeable • Also, like Dimash, and even if the song was composed that way with her in mind, Lara does not sing in her real « comfort zone »: she is, as Aida, a lyrical soprano but here she plays the role in the trio of a mezzo-soprano and takes the median register. It requires a lot of voice control to not interfere with Aida’s high note and does not allow her to really shine. She gives room to Aida to do it instead and Aida uses this magnificently. • It was the first time Dimash met his idol Lara: look how quickly he turned to her, despite he has not finished his duo section with Aida 😂 And how he looks at her and hold her after it … • Lara is the most comfortable in italian because it is her first native language even before french: her mother is italian and while born in Belgium she spent her first 5 years in sicilia before returning there. She also is married to a sicilian man • Look how dimash slightly adapted his vibrato to better match Aida or Lara • Also there is a debate about the final note, held for such a long time, with the conductor looking at Igor and Igor smiling: Did they make a prank to the singers by extending this last note? Or did the singers instead played with them? I personnally think this is more option 1 😀 • I forgot to add that Lara has been classically trained for more than 10 years at Brussels Royal Conservatory and still continues to receive voice lessons at least on a weekly basis. And she has sung many times opera pieces or with opera singers.
@@szolanek Know is not a real duet between Lara and Dimash. This is a song from Igor and Lara. Lara is the original performer and Dimash covered it ( one of the many covers he made from Lara songs). Then a fan created a virtuel duet by mashing up the 2 videos. He did a great job and we almost believe this is a duet for real. But I can tell you that both artists always interacts better than that with their duets counterparts and a real duet would have been wayyy better.

Funny. Lara, in an interview, said during rehearsal, Aida looked over, cocking her head at Dimash and said, if I have to run out for something, he can sing my part... and burst out laughing! They lost it ! Laughed so hard, when they started, one would look at another start blinking, trying to stop a laugh, bite a lip or burst out laughing again with notes coming thru their noses, including Igor! They couldn't get it together and had to take a break. She was so funny telling it, the audience, the interviewer and I was in stitches!

Knowing this wasn’t the first group to perform this, I watched the original. Lara was singing the same part and could easily pass for the same age despite more than twenty years difference! 👉 The lady in white is Aida Garifullina, *1987, a Tatar from Russia, world-famous opera star and Prima Donna at the Vienna Opera (Austria).
The lady in black is Lara Fabian (*1970), also a world-famous singer, songwriter from Belgium and a great role model for Dimash. Even as a child, Dimash wished to be on stage with Igor Krutoy and Lara Fabian one day ... and here the dream came true.
This event took place on the occasion of the 65th birthday of Igor Krutoi (here pianist) in 2019. Igor Krutoy, *1954 in Ukrainian SSSR), singer and songwriter in Ukrainian, Honored Artist and music titan in Russia (billionaire). He is a world- famous composer who came out of retirement to write songs for Dimash. The maestro and Dimash have been working together from time to time since 2018. They are friends and have a father-son relationship.... Can there be a nicer birthday? So far, Igor has composed several songs for Dimash and many songs in 30 years for Lara Fabian and other singers. Most of the songs in this concert were by him.
Lilia Vinogradova wrote the grandios lyrics and is known as a permanent co-author of the composer Igor Krutoy, with whom has created wonderful works in the crossover genre. They created the cycle for DA Hvorostovsky, albums for Sumi Jo, Anna Netrebko, Yusif Aivazov, Lara Fabian and others.
When she asked why she did it in Italian, the poet replied: “First, Italian is by definition the international language of music, the language that allows the vocalist to open up as much as possible. This is the best language for singing...
And secondly, I. Y. Krutoy and me have a well-established tradition of writing most of our works in Italian when creating in the crossover genre.”

A phenomenal Trio
Let me give you some info on this incredible trio and event:
• Igor is there as an overall lead because the event is built for him: this is his birthday event that he organized with all his favorite artists, the ones that he is used to collaborate with and the songs he has composed
• This is not the first time that Lara sings this song (composed by Igor) in trio but the third time: she performed in the original version with Dmitri Hvorostovsky and Alina Yaroyava then again later with Dmitriy and Sumi Jo, before this new trio with Dimash and Aida. The song was composed from day one with her voice in mind. She has been collaborating with Igor for more than 10 years and he has told from her that she is “the best singer and the best songwriter he has ever worked with”
• This also explains why the song does not exposes more of Dimash’s upper register: it was written for the late Dmitri who was a pure baryton.
• Lara was very very sick that day, with fever and strong medication but she is skilled enough to have made it unnoticeable
• Also, like Dimash, and even if the song was composed that way with her in mind, Lara does not sing in her real « comfort zone »: she is, as Aida, a lyrical soprano but here she plays the role in the trio of a mezzo-soprano and takes the median register. It requires a lot of voice control to not interfere with Aida’s high note and does not allow her to really shine. She gives room to Aida to do it instead and Aida uses this magnificently.
• It was the first time Dimash met his idol Lara: look how quickly he turned to her, despite he has not finished his duo section with Aida 😂 And how he looks at her and hold her after it …
• Lara is the most comfortable in italian because it is her first native language even before french: her mother is italian and while born in Belgium she spent her first 5 years in sicilia before returning there. She also is married to a sicilian man
• Look how dimash slightly adapted his vibrato to better match Aida or Lara
• Also there is a debate about the final note, held for such a long time, with the conductor looking at Igor and Igor smiling: Did they make a prank to the singers by extending this last note? Or did the singers instead played with them? I personnally think this is more option 1 😀
• I forgot to add that Lara has been classically trained for more than 10 years at Brussels Royal Conservatory and still continues to receive voice lessons at least on a weekly basis. And she has sung many times opera pieces or with opera singers.

@@szolanek Know is not a real duet between Lara and Dimash. This is a song from Igor and Lara. Lara is the original performer and Dimash covered it ( one of the many covers he made from Lara songs).
Then a fan created a virtuel duet by mashing up the 2 videos. He did a great job and we almost believe this is a duet for real. But I can tell you that both artists always interacts better than that with their duets counterparts and a real duet would have been wayyy better.

Funny. Lara, in an interview, said during rehearsal, Aida looked over, cocking her head at Dimash and said, if I have to run out for something, he can sing my part... and burst out laughing! They lost it ! Laughed so hard, when they started, one would look at another start blinking, trying to stop a laugh, bite a lip or burst out laughing again with notes coming thru their noses, including Igor! They couldn't get it together and had to take a break. She was so funny telling it, the audience, the interviewer and I was in stitches!

You may know that Lara is a long time role model for Dimash, and this was his first time they performed together. Also, you may have noticed that Dimash was giving Lara support as she was on strong medication for a condition that affected her balance. I look forward to more Lara soon. Knowing this wasn’t the first group to perform this, I watched the original. Lara was singing the same part and could easily pass for the same age despite more than twenty years difference! Dimash is so charmingly masculine in this performance with two absolutely stunning and talented women. Beautiful reaction!
