I'm so pleased to find this video. I'm a 70s baby, so lived the mid 80s and 90s scene. I've always laced my spawn's Docs. (Mother of the Year award for me!) Now he can lace his own while I balm up my Oxbloods. 😂

I ended up lacing my boots with some shoelaces I found laying by the road, washed and coloured with eyeshadow and hairspray as I didnt have yellow or purple pens. looks janky and patchy as fuck which honestly makes me love it all the more
I grew up in England wearing DM's to school, and later wore them as a punk in the 80's. The only thing I would say is that with your first move, we would never lace 'bottom to top' on the SAME side of the boot, it was ALWAYS bottom to top on the OPPOSITE side of the boot - diagonally. Seems silly now, but the colour of your laces and how you laced your boots was a big thing back in the day.
I've seriously been wearing docs for 17 years now and never figured out how to do this, the people that did lace them like them would never say how they did it

Go into the US Army Special Forces and that’s the only way you lace your combat boots. I thought it was interesting that red laces are the neo-Nazi color, the original neo-Nazis wore white laces kept extra white. Good tutorial on how to tie Ladder laces, they will keep your chances of breaking your ankle or foot bones if tied tight, especially when doing combat parachute jumps or unloading from a hot helicopter hover insertion. Great for rough terrain as well.

I went back to a variation of the ole criss/cross, it works for me, and is quick.

Yes that’s ok, just make sure to be careful around cops because it can mean more than just acab, It mean you’ve killed a cop, and if your a poc it can be really dangerous. Either way stay safe and look like a badass in your boots 💖

Also i wear white laces on my docs because where i grew up we disnt let the nazis dictate the lace colors. The white on black look comes from early skinhead days (before the nationalists stole the look). It traditionally represented 2tone and unity.
For a person who enjoys boots in "I can't feel my legs tight", this is perfect. A dumb question though - I can't for the life of me loosen them enough when I take them off to slip into them later on. Do you lace them everytime you put them on?
I just had this problem too lol. Managed to get them laced up and looking nice, but there wasn't enough lace left over to get them loose enough to fit on. Total bummer, will probably just have to try and find longer laces.

I take the laces out until there's only six going over top each time
Use longer laces 380 or 400 cm, just means you have to wrap around the top of ya Docs.
