  • Sky News Digital Presenter Gabriella Power discusses the ongoing pro-Palestine protests across universities around the world.
This comes amid footage of protesters at New York University not knowing what they are protesting for.
“Some people don’t really know why they’re getting swept up in it,” Ms Power said.
“We are seeing reports that others are getting paid to be there.”

Why? I'm from Italy and I think there are many parallelisms to WWII here ... 20 years of crazy regime, the underestimation by the allied (of Japan and Germany, not Italy😬) their response which destroyed so many civilian houses and vital part of my city and made so many internal refugees or victims (aka war)... Ok there's a difference, the allied had the help of a local resistance to the regime , here.

-On too many occasions recently our streets have been hijacked by small groups who are hostile to our values and have no respect for our democratic tradition.

    50. The Court considers that, in conformity with its obligations under the Genocide
Convention, Israel must immediately halt its military offensive, and any other action in the Rafah
Governorate, which may inflict on the Palestinian group in Gaza conditions of life that could bring
about its physical destruction in whole or in part.
    51. The Court recalls that, in its Order of 26 January 2024, it ordered Israel, inter alia, to “take
effective measures to prevent the destruction and ensure the preservation of evidence related to
allegations of acts within the scope of Article II and Article III of [the Genocide Convention]” (see
paragraph 5 above). In the present circumstances, the Court is also of the view that, in order to
preserve evidence related to allegations of acts falling within the scope of Article II and Article III
of the Genocide Convention, Israel must take effective measures to ensure the unimpeded access to
the Gaza Strip of any commission of inquiry, fact-finding mission or other investigative body
mandated by competent organs of the United Nations to investigate allegations of genocide.

The war crime accusation is based on claims made by Hamas, as if a terrorist organisation could possibly be a credible source of information. The official data on civilian deaths which is often quoted by the media is compiled by Hamas. Lawyers For Israel have stated that "these figures have been fabricated. These statistics are produced by the Hamas controlled Ministry of Health, and then circulated by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs. The Palestinian statistics are also deployed in a way that implies wrongly that all the Palestinians killed were civilians, as there is no reference to the number of Palestinian combatants killed." However, even if the stats were true, 13,000 Palestinian combatants had been killed by the end of February 2024, meaning that the ratio of civilian to combatant death rate is less than 1.5:1. This ratio is much lower than the usual ratio of civilian to combatant casualties in urban warfare, as indicated by a Report by the UN Secretary General which found that in urban armed conflicts worldwide, 89% of the casualties were civilians. Other articles which prove that Hamas’ statistics are false include: How the Gaza Ministry of Health Fakes Casualty Numbers by Prof Abraham Wyner, Statistically Impossible: A Critical Analysis of Hamas’s Women and Children Casualty Figures by Profs Tom Simpson, Lewi Stone and Gregory Rose, Gaza Fatality Data Has Become Completely Unreliable by Gabriel Epstein from The Washington Institute, The numbers of dead in Gaza don’t add up - and there is no easy explanation by Mark Zlochin in The Telegraph, and Close review of Gaza casualty figures reported by UNOCHA based on daily Hamas ‘Ministry of Health’ numbers proves they are falsified” by Salo Aizenberg.
The Washington Institute for Near East Policy has documented significant discrepancies in Hamas’ fatality numbers in their report entitled How Hamas Manipulates Gaza Fatality Numbers: Examining the Male Undercount and Other Problems. At least 1000 rockets fired by Hamas landed in their own territory, and Hamas have gunned down civilians who were attempting to obtain aid from the IDF troops, as can be seen on video footage uploaded to the Stand With Us CZcams account.
The war in Gaza has one of the lowest civilian casualty rates in recorded history. As Colonel Richard Kemp’s research and calculations have shown, the Syrian Civil War resulted in 250, 000 deaths, the Yemeni civil war resulted in 150,000 deaths, the Tigray War in Ethiopia has killed 80,000 people and 2 million people have been killed in warfare in Sudan. In fact, every significant war in the middle east and Africa has had a much higher death toll than the Hamas war, including the Iraq-Iran War with an estimated 500,000 to 2 million deaths, and the Congo War which has been blamed for 6 million deaths since 1996. The USA and Britain also killed a far higher number of civilians in Afghanistan and Iraq, and Saudi Arabia has killed 400, 000 people in Yemen.
If you watch the Stand With Us videos on CZcams, you can see videos of the Israel Defence Forces evacuating and escorting Palestinian civilians to safe areas and providing aid and medical assistance to them. In fact, the IDF have evacuated 1.5 million Gazan civilians to safe zones, and, unlike other armies, the IDF has a whole unit dedicated to evacuation efforts. It is called the Population Evacuation Unit. This unit uses an advanced digital map that divides Gaza into over 600 polygons, enabling evacuations from very specific areas. The IDF employs phones calls, text messages, flyers, loudspeakers and media platforms to warn civilians to evacuate. No other army in the world lets its enemies know of impending attacks, because this would risk the lives of its own army members. Using various tools, the Population Evacuation Unit can keep tabs on how many residents have left a given area. What warning did Hamas give before they slaughtered thousands of people, kidnapped hundreds and beheaded innocent babies? John Spencer, Chair of the Urban Welfare Studies at the Modern War Institute at West Point and a retired US military officer has stated that “Israel has taken more measures to avoid needless civilian harm than virtually any other nation that’s fought an urban war...No military in modern world history has faced over 30,000 urban defenders in more than seven cities using human shields and hiding in hundreds of miles of underground networks purposely built under civilian cites, while holding hundreds of hostages. The sole reason for civilian deaths in Gaza is Hamas.”

Unlike Hamas and Hezbollah, Israel does not deliberately target civilians and they try their best to minimise casualties. The official procedure of the Israel Defence Force is to strike targets based on intel, and military necessity for close air support. They carefully consider the right munitions to minimize collateral damage to accurately strike Hamas even though it operates within civilian areas. During each military strike, they carefully monitor the target area. If it does not comply with the IDF’s Standard Operating Procedures, they will abort. Regarding Israel’s use of unguided bombs, the claim that such munitions are indiscriminate or cause uncontrollable damage is misleading. Even though these munitions are not GPS-guided, they are still used accurately. It is released in a specific release point calculated by the aircraft’s system to allow the pilot to strike a target accurately. Heavy munitions are detonated underground, preventing fragmentation and significantly reducing the blastwave and debris as a result. In these strikes, the resulting crater visible in satellite images indicates that the underground detonation has actually occurred on a military target, and directly minimised damage to the surrounding areas. Additionally, in many cases, the IDF use small PGMs (precision-guided munitions) to strike targets near sensitive areas. Those targets include rocket launchers, commanders, tunnel shafts, and command and control centres, which are located throughout the Gaza Strip.

Hamas and the Palestinian Government are the ones committing war crimes. Palestine has been collecting aid money for decades, which is meant to be given to civilians, but is squandered on weapons production and the building of underground terror network tunnels. Many leaders of Hamas, like Sinwar are billionaires living in palaces and mansions in Qatar, all funded by aid which was intended for civilians. Hamas has governed Gaza since 2005, but they do not care about their own civilians, hence their extensive use of human shields and recruitment of child soldiers, as documented in an online article in the Jerusalem Post entitled Hamas Continues Recruiting Child Soldiers: Where is the Condemnation? Hamas also places its infrastructure, launch pads, bunkers and ammunitions in densely populated areas and near hospitals and schools, all of which are examples of war crimes.
The Palestinian Government also commits crimes via their Palestinian Martyrs Fund. This fund gives large and continuous cash payments and other incentives to Palestinians who carry out terrorist acts on Israeli civilians. These payments to individuals or their families total $300 million a year. (More info about this can be found in article on the New York Post website entitled Pay to Slay is the True Face of the “Peace Process” for Israelis and Palestinians and Pay4Slay_Fact-Sheet-FINAL.pdf (emetonline.org). In addition to this, children in Palestine are brainwashed into hating the Jews from an early age both at school and even on children's TV programmes. (More info on this can be found at AHRC46NGO42_050321.pdf (un.org) Also, the Palestinian government is run by Mahmoud Abbas, who was involved in the 1972 Munich Olympic Massacre.
