JUNGLE FISHING: Exploring River Never Fished for Years!

  • Jungle Fishing, exploring a river never fished for years. We are lucky to get Graeme back from his latest expedition. He had an invite to help explore a stretch of river that had been left to turn into an almost jungle like area, and only a handful of fishing spots have been opened up by the new fishery managers in the last 3 months. But our intrepid explorer could not resist battling his way through 6 foot beds of stinging nettles and brambles as he tried to find where the river was. In sweltering 30 degree temperatures it was exhausting work, but the excitement of not knowing what was actually living in a river not fished for years kept him going. He even hunkers down in a bivvy to see what creatures come out at night and the camera floodlight shows he is hammered by hordes of flying "thingies" as soon as he tries to film.. All fishermen like exploring new places and here, in the middle of England, you can see how quickly nature reclaims back her own. It’s a movie length episode of over an hour so grab a drink, feet up, sit back and enjoy. Another Totally Awesome film to transport you to the waterside.

Had a very good relaxing Sunday watching 13 hours marathon of Graeme. And really loving this TA fishing episode . like the super cool grandad I wish had. Don't get me wrong my grandad was really cool 25 years in the army and air force and also loved fishing but unfortunately he passed before I was born. ... Absolutely love this channel . I've said on all the posts that I'm just getting back into fishing after nearly 20-years so much because everything has changed.. Graham's style of fishing is old school and that is the best type of fishing. Go with the gut 😁

Love the Warwickshire Avon. It's such a pity you never tried dead baiting the minnows. There are some really big Perch in there. My dad and me had 14 the one day up to 4Lb. The zander also take the minnows as do the big Chub. Strangest fish We caught on the Avon was a great big rogue Rainbow Trout of about 5lb on bread. Some great big bream in there too and the odd Tench and carp. My dad was known as the Zander man and he even ended up dying in the Avon (true story) . God bless him. Thanks for this video Graham really enjoyed it.

I used to bailiff this stretch for Warwick AC . It’s a very lovely place .. until after dark 😀😀. Above the weir in the mill race used to be the best Dace fishery in Warwickshire. I’ve had them to 11oz and seen them caught over a pound .
However the finest fish I ever saw from there I caught myself . A stunning December roach of 2.1 🌞🌞the fish of a lifetime. I absolutely loved the place but couldn’t manage it on my own . Then there were the cormorants and the fish kill and the issues with access and ornithologists .
Listen out for the big splash at night .. ☺️the local tales tell it all .

    a tip for cheap bait:
buy 20-25kg of mixed pellet for £30-35. you can then separate the larger pellets for carp/cats and use the smaller ones for river fishing
buy 20-25kg of unprepared seed/spod mix for £20-25.
both bags will usually do a season saving me hundreds in little tackle shop visits

What more can you ask for to start the weekend? Graeme takes us to a beautiful piece of countryside and catches a real mixed bag of fish including a nice perch and large eels. The kind of fishing that requires careful casting and a lot of thought. He makes it look effortless but from experience I know its not. The last three/four fishing videos have been outstanding, thanks for posting. A small tip not fishing related if you want to make authentic teak oil 70 percent white spirit 30 percent boiled linseed oil. That's a recipe from a very old company I used to work for.

Trout or Dace are my choice of livebaits. They seem to last for ages, got to admit I always feel a little guilty when putting them on the trebles, but they outperform a deadbait or a lure many times over. I can catch 5-10 Pike in a day session, I'm lucky to get a single run on deadbaits

I'd like them to have maintained a bit of vegetation next to the river bank as cover and erosion protection!"!

@@harrylucas7664 I wonder if zander have gotten up that far yet . They only used to go as far as the weir below which came up from myton road . I’m dying to see what this stretch produces now with anglers on it again . When I bailiffed it I had so many problems with Eastern European’s taking fish etc . Being by myself I couldn’t do a thing . They did the same to Hopyards as well

I’ve never had one out of the river before myself only ever the canal but even then I’ve had some nice decent sized zanders.. They seem to be a problem everywhere

I used to fish five miles downstream from there. Over the years I had chub to 6lb, barbel, carp and pike nudging double figures and some really big spooky Zander at dusk. That was 20 years ago mind. Like most of our rivers the fish stocks aren't what they were.

Indeed , Slimy And Always Swallows The Hook Down, I Have On occasion Skinned One And Filleted It Cut It In About 2inch strips For Blue Cat Bait , I Have Some Success With that , I Also Soaked the Eel Pieces In chunks of magic cheese Catfish Bait , That Definitely Worked For Me , The eel soaks it up like a sponge and hold the hook well , I like a piece about 2 Inches long and and 3/8 wide , a long slinder Piece Of the cut eel Fillet ,I will split the end it gives. It some fluttering action in the water with current ,

Here's a challenge for ya! Turn the nettles into fishing line and catch net to bring home the fish! You can do it! I am jealous of your 7 foot nettle. The tallest I have been able to grow them is around 4 ft here.
