Very very very few glock 18s were registered prior to the cut off of may 19,1986. Like they are space unicorn rare. So rare that if you could get your hands on one, you'd be looking at luxury sports car prices. Could he have just bought a registered switch? Its plausible, but totally not probable. I also don't think the switches were ever sold on their own, so it would have had to come off a glock 18.
